LOST IN AUDIO + THE DEBUTS + THE NATURE BOYS
“Alt rockers Lost In Audio have lit-up the music scene with their epic rock anthems. As well as radio play from such top stations as BBC Radio 1 and XFM, Lost In Audio have received acclaim from many of the industry’s top performers, ranging from The Subways naming them their pick of the year, to Fall Out Boy hailing the trio as their favourite band in Scotland.
They’ve sold out hometown venue Cabaret Voltaire, headlined the legendary King Tuts, and when they’re not selling out their own shows, they can be found touring with the top bands in the country, including support slots with The Fratellis, The Subways, The Futureheads, The View and The Von Bondies.
As well as achieving local success, the trio have become a favorite across Europe, including a mainstage performance at Iceland’s Pjóðhátið festival to over 10,000.

SLEEPING STATES + STORMY SEAS + THE WINTERGREENS + RICHARD COBB
August 25th, 2009
Sleeping States, the musical project of Bristol, UK-based Markland Starkie, has been boldly evolving and flowering since 2004. Markland’s transient, ever-moving nature is revealed in his musical style and progression. An upbringing learning various musical instruments and classical theories fused with the DIY punk, experimental-noise ethos that hit Markland as he hit university, is the true source of Sleeping States. Always at the heart of this experimentation and exploration was an altruistic regard for good melodies, minimal arrangement and strong voice.
In 2008 Bella Union released the Sleeping States 10” EP, Old vs New, a reworking of some older songs in a newer context that accurately represented the full-band workings of Sleeping States. The digital release of this EP accelerated the presence of Sleeping States worldwide.
The themes of dislocation that feature so strongly on There the Open Spaces, after Markland left home for London (where he resided for several years), were compounded by another move in the summer of 2008, this time to Bristol. It was here that Markland recruited the talents of drummer Rose Clark (Thanksgiving / Adrian Orange) and promptly decamped to her house in the woods outside Bristol to record a new album over the winter and spring of 2009. This album, entitled In The Gardens of the North, will be released in summer 2009.

LOVVERS + ELVIS SUICIDE + DIVORCE
August 21st, 2009
Sneaky Petes is very proud to present for an night of musical entertainment during the Fringe, LOVVERS.
Great bands do not gain popularity, develop musically or give you what you want; based nowhere and residing pretty much everywhere Lovvers is compromised of four ambitious nobodies; that have tellingly appeared at a moment in musical history that can only described as a yawning deluded mess.
Two years in and having trawled the UK time and time again, playing nearly 200 shows and sharing multiple gigs with bands like Butthole Surfers, No Age, Times New Viking, Jay Reatard, Awesome Color, Mika Miko, Fucked Up, Black Lips, Brutal Knights……..
Lovvers are a strange mix of music’s forgotten / blank generation, re-calling the spirit of Darby Crashes’ Germs, the weirdness of Flipper, Wipers style pop and the careless attitude of The Replacements; at one show a girl was so confused / annoyed that she wrote to KERRANG! describing this music as highly offensive, wanting to erase them from her mind.
LOVVERS play Sneaky Petes on August 21st. Tickets are available now from ticketweb.co.uk + Ripping

MONOTONIX + INDOMITOS + OK SOCIAL CLUB
August 19th, 2009
MONOTONIX are probably the best and most exciting live band you will ever see! Last time they played Edinburgh the show ended up outside and the band were playing on Morrisson Street!
Now the trio are back, led by charismatic frontman Shalev for a Fringe performance on August 19th at Sneaky Petes.
NOT TO BE MISSED!
————————–
“During the trio’s riotous encore, the mob carried Shalev out into the freezing night air atop a bass drum. He is probably still out there, on the wilds of Exmoor, howling at the Moon like some blood-drenched Viking warrior.” London Times
