Can You Dig It w/ Ché Wilson

March 5th, 2020

We are very pleased to announce the first installment of our parties starting this March at Sneaky Pete’s!

And we’re kicking things off on Thursday 5th with guest DJ Ché Wilson!

The young Liverpudlian DJ/musician/producer has been making his way into the UK music scene the past few years with numerous gigs and DJ sets in Liverpool, Birmingham, London and festivals such as Boomtown and Africa Oyé, both as a DJ and with his band Rubber Dub.

With regular residencies in various clubs and bars in Liverpool, Ché also curates parties in his hometown with various collectives such as Xjukebox Music and Keep It Cryptic, which are now established projects within the local underground scene.

His eclectic music selection reflects in his sets and his production work, varying from house and electronic to dub and bass with a hint of disco and psychedelia.

His latest work, a remix of ‘Reinvented Daily’ by Serbia’s underground electronic band Bella Technika that he produced with Greg Wilson, was released on Super Weird Substance in January.

Opening the night we will have resident DJ Mairi B who will spin some funk and disco grooves to warm you up and get you ready for a night of dancing to music that’s got soul, with a blend of electronic, house, discothèque and breaks.

PREGOBLIN + Gravelle

March 5th, 2020

PREGOBLIN are one of the most exciting new acts to watch out for in this year, and they’re coming to Sneaks as part of their 2020 tour!

According to Fat White Family ‘Alex Sebley and Jess Winter of PREGOBLIN are the most under-appreciated songwriting partnership of our era. That being said I’ve always been of the opinion that fame might actually kill Alex, and I love him more than words, so please don’t go see this band”….

We think maybe you should risk it?

Tempers

March 3rd, 2020

TEMPERS are a NYC-based duo comprised of Jasmine Golestaneh and Eddie Cooper. The duo’s dark, ice-cold electronica blends a sinister slow static disco with danceable beats, a hinting of pop sensibility imprisoned in an almost gothic, industrial soundscape.

Their previous singles, ‘Eyes Wide Wider’ b/w ‘Hell Hotline’ produced by Damian Taylor (Bjork), ‘Strange Harvest’ and ‘Killing for Company’ (Swans cover) received coverage across the US and UK blogs including Pitchfork, The Fader, Noisey, V Magazine and Interview. Their debut album “Services” was released in October 2015, and their EP “Fundamental Fantasy” was released via The Vinyl Factory Feb 2017.

In November 2018 Tempers released JUNKSPACE, feat. Rem Koolhaas on BMG. A unique concept album based on the ground-breaking essay by visionary architect REM KOOLHAAS about the architecture of consumerism. On the following EU/UK tour they sold out shows in London, Berlin and Warsaw.

Randolph’s Leap Year Show

March 1st, 2020

The Gentle Invasion & Olive Grove Records present: Randolph’s Leap Year Show

Celebrating 10 years of Randolph’s Leap

Plus very special guest Hailey Beavis

Happy anniversary to us! 2020 is a special year as it’s 10 years since our very first musical release which came out way back in November 2010. Rremember 2010? Coalition government, Chilean miners and Randolph’s Leap’s Battleships & Kettle Chips EP, in a nutshell.

2020 will also see the release of a brand-new Randolph’s Leap album and, fittingly enough, this year is a LEAP YEAR so we’re celebrating this quadrennial calendar quirk with a couple of full-band gigs in Glasgow and Edinburgh on 29th Feb and 1st March. Expect to hear tunes from the forthcoming album and some old favourites. Get your song requests in now!
