For our February Sneaky Pete’s date, Wack are delighted to announce the Edinburgh debut of Adam Pits.
An artist whose career is on a rapid upward trajectory, he has been turning several heads with his unique sound. He takes influences from electro, techno, breakbeat and minimal to create music that is ready made to destroy dancefloors.
For a producer who has only been releasing music, under this moniker, for two years, Adam Pits has made a serious impression on the dance music scene. Two stomping releases on the excellent Holding Hands label, ran by his good friend Desert Sound Colony, have really thrown his name into the spotlight.
He first took musical inspiration from classical music, both of his parents being classical musicians by trade, playing the cello at a young age. It took his French teacher giving him a pirated copy of Logic 9 for his production talent to flourish. Originally inspired by classic beat makers like Nujabes and J-Dilla, you can really appreciate the knack for sound design in his music.
As a DJ, Adam Pits sounds a lot like his music. A no holds barred approach to selection, expect anything and everything. With sets at northern England institutions such as Wire, Soup Kitchen and Hope Works, he is already gaining a reputation as a real party starter.
We are buzzing to have Adam up for his first ever Scottish headline show and what better venue for it to be in than Sneaky Pete’s. This night will be one for the ages, to be able to say you’ve seen Adam Pits in Sneaky’s will be worth lots of brownie points.
Support on the night coming from Wack residents Aidan and Burdis, as well as good friend Bolam. We are delighted to have him join the bill for this one. As excellent a DJ as he is a producer, he has been making big waves in the past 6 months. One to watch.
