Prosumer presents Heyday with Joe Delon

February 19th, 2022

Heyday is a queer night for people passionate about house music, with Prosumer, former Berghain/Panorama Bar resident. We are delighted to have him call Sneaky Pete’s his occasional club home.

Prosumer decamped to Edinburgh from Berlin where he helped shape the sound Berghain’s Panorama Bar alongside long time collaborator Steffi. Now a popular NTS Radio resident, he’s continued to tour globally and is now equally well known as a frequent flyer at Homobloc, Glastonbury’s Block9 and NYC Downlow, Love International and numerous saucy Boiler Rooms.

Originally from Birmingham but living in Lisbon since late 2014, Joe Delon has amassed a special record collection of unearthed, genre-bending jams that span groovy house, disco burners, oddball techno, UK garage and electro, all with the firm ethos of making you want to dance. Building on the foundations of being a top-tier selector as well as a music-blogger in his early days, he’s quietly garnered the support of many parties and promoters across the UK and beyond, with Spaced (London) and Dust Off (Manchester) inviting him to play on numerous occasions, as well as a number of queer-run nights including Kiss Me Again (Manchester), El Cuerpo Del Disco (Madrid), Pumping Velvet (London) and Kit Ket (Lisbon).

Athens of the North Disco Club with Sam & Fryer

February 18th, 2022

After AOTN’s Sell out party in London at the end of last summer with Sam and Fryer it’s time to catch up with our Edinburgh squad. Sam is an integral part of the London music scene, a renowned record hound, DJ and Broadcaster. Seen regularly playing with DJs such Glenn Underground, Hunee, John Gomez, Maurice Fulton, running his regular Free Association party at Brilliant Corners and warehouse parties across the city. He also hosts a popular monthly radio show of the same name on Netil Radio. Most importantly, he also comped ‘For The Love Of You LPs’ for Athens Of The North. As always, we delve into the strange world of rare and exotic dance-floor vinyl. Edinburgh’s wildly popular Athens of the North label’s sell-out night back with their top picks from their extensive record (yes record) collections. Deep soulful funk & disco, rare Brazilian, lovers rock, 80s boogie.

Venus Grrrls
+ Eat The Friek
& Volka

February 18th, 2022

Venus are a 5-piece rock band from Leeds, promoting the participation and inclusion of women in alternative music, as well as a safe diverse music scene. Aiming to bring a positive energy of feminism and activism through hard hitting alternative rock and punk influenced music, they also use electronic and ‘astrological’ sounds to amplify their sonic signature. The band have played alongside the likes of Stealing Sheep, Allusinlove and Anteros recently, whilst also having just released their new EP ‘Wicked Things’ to great reviews. Venus and their message demand to be heard.

Dry Cleaning + PVA
at Summerhall
sold out

February 18th, 2022

Forming in the aftermath of a karaoke party, Dry Cleaning are a minimalist, post-punk slanted quartet hailing from London. Their urgent, punky riffs contrast the stoney coolness of lead singer Florence Shaw’s spoken-words, reminiscent of Kim Gordon and Sonic Youth’s iconic Teenage Riot. Catch them at Summerhall with support from the brilliant electronic trio PVA.

Dr Banana presents: Sneaky Pete’s Club

February 17th, 2022

We at Signal are proud to kick off our bimonthly Sneaky Pete’s residency with a celebration of high-energy UK dance music. We welcome none other than Sandy Hagenbach aka Dr Banana for his Dr Banana presents tour. Over the past 5 years Sandy has cemented himself at the very top of the Garage revival, through high quality releases of music and freshest of attires, this man was able to take the head of a new generation of British interdisciplinary artists.

The central arm of his label has seen releases of top dawgs such as K-Lone and El-B, while DRBAGAIN has facilitated the reintroduction of classics by the likes of DJ Deller, Anthill Mob & the German Gush Collective’s Herb LF and Adam K. There is no doubt in our minds that he is at the apex of the Garage renaissance we have been experiencing over the past years and could not think of a better place to host him than the ever intimate, Sneaky Pete’s.

With 2021 bringing him a monstrous Boiler Room debut in a B2B action with Interplanetary Criminal, his upwards trajectory seems unstoppable. This may be one of the last opportunities to see this man at an affordable price in this very special room.

Support comes from local German boy and EHFM and Signal resident Aidan. He’ll be setting the tone with the deeper end of those shuffling hi-hats and wobbly basslines synonymous with the British underground dance music scene of the late 90s and early naughties.
