Club Signal returns to our Edinburgh home Sneaky Pete’s after our capacity nights with Dr Banana and the Wobbly Mob records, this time we’ve recruited two behemoths of Scotland’s underground. We’re delighted to welcome Aberdeen’s wunderkind Nina Stanger alongside the ever-elusive Nightlark for an all night long versus in Edinburgh’s world-renowned sweatbox. Both hailing from the grim North these two have garnered wide recognition as the very best Scotland has to offer. Aberdeen’s Nina Stanger boasts a rich catalogue of club experiences, despite her young age. Highlights include sets for Boiler Room, SWG3, the Bongo Club and notably an interview for the well-respected, music-centred publication Ransom Note. As a prolific digger, her sets display intricate genre-fluid selections, spanning across jungle, electro, touching all corners of bass-heavy dance music. This lady is so tight on the decks, she even had our very own chancellor of Duchy of Lancaster popping and locking to her silky-smooth selections. Rest assured we’re buzzing to host her Sneaks debut. Edinburgh based artist the Nightlark (also known as the most shadiest local DJ in the world) is commonly considered one of the most technically gifted selectors north of Hadrian’s wall. He is often found searching shady internet record groups for obscure rarities, perusing dusty second-hand bins and mixing up a storm at your local function. A mystery to people who don’t know him and an even greater mystery to those who do, expect outrageous blends traversing the club-ready sounds of Baltimore house, Italo disco, dark reggaeton, jungle and Detroit techno. This man has literally supported or booked every major DJ in the world and is responsible for every major event in Scottish DJ history. All we can say is dress to sweat. These two are no strangers to sharing a stage together. They contribute a monthly show to Edinburgh’s EH-FM, where they regularly display their impressive musical knowledge. It’s a b2b experience we’ve personally been wanting to see for quite some time and we’d love you to join us for this immersive night of pure musical silliness.
Heaters // Fort Romeau
April 13th, 2022
For a decade Fort Romeau’s been refining his inimitable take on dance music, one that’s as lush and vibrant as it is sound system-ready. He puts his stamp on everything from downtempo, house, disco and techno, and it does it masterfully.
Since 2012 he’s been performing all over the world in some of Europe’s most revered club spaces, releasing music on labels like Phantasy, Running Back, Ghostly International and Live at Robert Johnson.
He last played here with Jacques Greene back in 2018, and with the release of his sensational new album Beings of Light, we’re thrilled to have him back for Heaters.
Eades
cancelled, sorry
For fans of… Talking Heads, The Rapture, Yard Act
April 13th, 2022
Eades’ sound is assembled somewhere within the shifting textures of rhythmic convulsions and low-fidelity rawness. It bounces with an after-hours hedonism. Lives on its wits. Snaps from the fingertips to the brain edges in a transmissible instant. Fidgety. Restless. Raw. Economical. Irresistible songs flecked with CBGB’s decadence. Offset by a Bukowski gutterball lyric. Laced with an appropriately dangerous, metropolis menace. Always delivered with fearless abandon. Most bands cram you with theory, but rarely show you how hard the pavements are.
Formed in 2020, the Leeds based five-piece released the exhilarating ‘Microcosmic Things’ EP and a clutch of singles off the bat, piquing the interest of Manchester indie, Heist or Hit (Her’s / Pizzagirl / Brad Stank). Signatures inked, the group decamped to Bam Bam Studios – an ex-psychic palm reader’s work space that band members and producers Harry & Dan gutted and built out into a creative space. Sophomore EP ‘Abstract Education’ released to critical acclaim in 2021 with the likes of Fader, Paste, Brooklyn Vegan, The Guardian, The Independent, The NME, DIY, DORK, Clash, KCRW, Steve Lamaq (BBC Radio 6), Jack Saunders (BBC Radio 1) and Gemma Bradley (BBC Radio 1) all lining up to call themselves fans. It was a bracing snapshot of a band on a roll. Awash with the erratic rhythms of existence; a fever-pitch of tension and release. An uninterrupted pulse of fervent energy. Frenzied. Unrelenting. Made up of members from Far Caspian, Vraell, and English Teacher, Eades have a wealth of combined experience; from sharing stages with Wolf Alice, Sports Team, Jungle Giants, Working Men’s Club, Porridge Radio, Feet and Twin Peaks, to mixing Abbey Road sessions and producing Radio 1’s ‘Track of the Week’ for Daisy Brain.

The Howl & The Hum + Edie Bens rescheduled, new date

April 12th, 2022
Tickets are £12 buy one get one free & support local venues!
In 2020, there are more ways than ever to get your name out there. Stars are born on Soundcloud or via Instagram; musicians can cultivate a whole following without having ever played a note outside of their bedrooms. It’s a new type of opportunity, but it’s also one that lacks the romance and community of a youth spent around like-minded souls. And, as The Howl & The Hum’s chief singer and songwriter Sam Griffiths discovered after years embedded in York’s artistic open mic scene, it’s those experiences that really whip you into shape. After moving to York, Griffiths was hanging out at open mic and poetry nights, a strange Yorkshire version of Greenwich Village in the 60s, and it was through these nights that Sam would go on to meet bassist Bradley Blackwell, drummer Jack Williams and guitarist Conor Hirons.
With a magpie mentality they cut their teeth playing in and learning from local bands and busking, with a strong songwriting core and an inventive, progressive view on what place guitar music has in today’s culture. Their inspirations ranging from Leonard Cohen and Phoebe Bridgers to Lizzo and Kendrick Lamar, and have been likened to Massive Attack, Radiohead and Alt-J.
The Howl & the Hum are now gearing up for the release of their debut album, the unluckily titled ‘Human Contact’.

April 11th, 2022
Cultural appropriation and racism. Social media vanity. Post-colonialism and political correctness. These are not talking points that you’d ordinarily hear on the dancefloor but Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul are ripping up the rulebook with their music.
The Ghent-based duo, who broke out with their 2019 Zandoli EP on Soulwax’s record label DEEWEE, are rare storytellers in electronic music: they take the temperature of the time and funnel them into their playful synth concoctions – never didactic and always with a knowing wink.

Redstone Press & Friends – Bake B2B Lewis Lowe
April 9th, 2022
We are “bark” with another Redstone Press & Friends at Sneaky Pete’s on Saturday, April 9th.
This time Lewis is joined by a longtime friend and one of his favourite DJs!
Bake really needs no introduction but for the sake of context, his influence on Redstone Press cannot be ignored. All Caps, the record label he ran with Ryan Martin was one of the reasons we started RP in the first place, the sounds they curated and released gave us the courage and motivation to try it out for ourselves. Although not operating anymore the music from the imprint is still as fresh and forward-thinking today as it was when released. This is also the case with Bake’s approach to playing music, weaving sounds together into an inimitable blend of past, present and future he has a way of making you dance whilst simultaneously stopping you in your tracks! Lewis & Bake will be going B2B all night and diving into their collections to try and musically emulate the shared vision of those good boys in the poster.
Presale tickets for £5 available on RA.
