Central Belters 2022
Cheap Teeth
Hypothetics
for fans of… Black Midi, IDLES, Squid

August 10th, 2022

Cheap Teeth’s aim is to write songs that are in equal measure structurally, and lyrically experimental as they are accessible. They are a band inspired by the dark cracks in the places they have lived, namely Edinburgh, Leeds and London. The late 70’s night clubbing extravaganza is fronted by Joe Laycock, who’s vocal performance ranges from raspy Russian-novel-inspired rambles to pristine, room-filling howls. This is backed by growling, anthemic licks from Josef Ash, grunting bass lines that feel both refreshingly self-assured and gorgeously wonky from Jack Sharp, all protected by drummer Sandy Short, who journeys the jauntily swinging listener along to what SO YOUNG zine described as ‘a snotty garage rock tsunami’, seamlessly immersing them into his world with icily locked in punk rhythms.

Joining them are the unrelenting and direct Hypothetics whose sound pushes the four to the extremes; as engaging with driven outbursts of noise as they are with thoughtful progressive ideas, we see a band that are happy not settling. Cutting their teeth at venues such as The Louisiana and The Thunderbolt, they quickly rose through the ranks, supporting Lady Bird and headlining Rough Trade a month before lockdown.

Revive Live:
Cultdreams
Other Half
Lana Wild
for fans of… Paramore, Blink-182

August 9th, 2022

Cultdreams are coming to Sneaks this July as part of Music Venue Trust and The National Lottery #revivelive tour. Tickets are buy one get one free, so bring that friend you’re always introducing new music to.

Self-described as sad lo-fi punk, Cultdreams have turned heads with their 2017 debut album Seafoam and their 2019 sophomore Things That Hurt, receiving lashings of praise from Kerrang! Magazine, The Skinny, Louder Than War and She Shreds (just to name a few!). The subject of their music is often raw but always poignant, addressing sexual harassment and misogyny in society.

With support from Other Half and Lana Wild

Central Belters 2022
Eades
Midnight Ambulance
ur.frnd
for fans of… Parquet Courts, Vampire Weekend, Television

August 8th, 2022

It’s Eades from Leeds!

Eades’ sound is assembled somewhere within the shifting textures of rhythmic convulsions and low-fidelity rawness. It bounces with an after-hours hedonism. Lives on its wits. Snaps from the fingertips to the brain edges in a transmissible instant. Fidgety. Restless. Raw. Economical. Irresistible songs flecked with CBGB’s decadence. Offset by a Bukowski gutterball lyric. Always delivered with fearless abandon. Most bands cram you with theory, but rarely show you how hard the pavements are.

Despite being sonically disparate to Slaves, listeners will recognise Holman’s signature charisma and candidness permeating the Baby Dave project, this time channelled into expressing his personal quirks and anxieties. His new album ‘Monkey Brain’ explores a debilitating mental breakdown Holman suffered in 2019 and features trademark production contributions from Gorillaz’s Damon Albarn.

EHFM Festival Party:
naafi
Pelk
Sweet Philly

August 6th, 2022

Sometimes you just need to put three of the city’s most exciting young producers on a line-up together and see what happens. naafi, Pelk and Sweet Philly are all making their own brands of cutting-edge, euphoric club music right now, and their respective EHFM shows tell us they also have tunes for days. Break-neck drums, sparkling pop edits and murky basslines all night long. Oh, and it’s an extender! A 5am finish, which means two extra hours of frenzied dancing in the sweatbox!

Central Belters 2022
Deema
randombrownkid
Nikhita
for fans of… Loyle Carner, Slowthai, Brockhampton

August 6th, 2022

It’s hard to work out what feels more exciting about 21-year-old rapper, Deema. The fact that his borderless approach to the rap is something that feels like it could only exist in today’s forward-thinking urban landscape. “I just try and make every song I do different to the last one,” he explains. Or the reassuring fact that amongst a now expansive UK rap culture splintering into cross-pollinating street sounds, a fresh-faced new name can raise his head with a flow that somehow feels just timeless. After catching his infectiously high-energy set at The Great Escape we are super excited for him to be joining our Central Belters line-up.

Joining Deema is sweet R&B songstress Nikhita plus lo-fi rapper randombrownkid.

Aphid

August 5th, 2022

The Miss World musical beauty pageant returns to the Sneaky’s sweatbox for a 5am August edition, featuring special guests Lizzzur (Bitch) and Annafleur (Femmergy). Join us for a sampling of sounds across the buffet of dance music.

Please respect your fellow dancers – all are welcome at Miss World. We operate a safe space policy, and a zero tolerance policy towards homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, ableism, creepiness, or just being a downright shitebag in general. Anyone found to be being a shitebag in any of the above ways will be immediately removed from the premises. Respect your fellow dancers, don’t assume people’s pronouns and keep your hands to yourself (unless you’re given obvious and explicit permission of course)!

You can ALWAYS approach Miss World DJs (we’re normally next to the booth) or venue staff if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. If you have had too much to drink, lost your pals or just want to be around safe people, come and find us to hang out or we can help get you a taxi home.

Our bathrooms are gender neutral the night of our event so please respect each other in choosing what feels comfortable.
