Heaters // Hypnotikk:
Still Waveley & friends

September 21st, 2022

After a sweaty summer break, Hypnotikk returns under new management to bring the same relentless energy. Our last party in June was a magical one and we’re ready to put on more unforgettable nights this time around, starting with an evening of Hypnotikk and friends.

Still Waveley made his name on the Hypnotikk circuit with a set supporting Changsie which blew the socks off anyone within a mile of Cowgate. He doesn’t know what genre is, and he doesn’t care; he’s a sonic shapeshifter whose energy and depth of selections has only grown, taking him on a magical quest away from Sneaky’s to locate the perfect set. Has he found it? Come and find out.

Harvey Furness has been actively dedicating his soul to the Edinburgh scene for some time now, with sets across the city from The Caves to Cab Vol supporting LF SYSTEM, Eclair Fifi and Dr Banana. His alchemist’s craft and deep knowledge of house never fails to impress us and after recently playing Brixton Jamm in London we know he’ll have some tricks up his sleeve at Sneaky’s.

Siskin’s dedication to UKG and Electro sounds has seen him bring the legendary likes of Interplanetary Criminal, Breaka and Higgo up to Edinburgh for his wonderful Shelflife nights. His penchant for skippy drums and bouncy bass is matched only by his unflinching need to bring people together onto the dancefloor. Expect weird and wonderful selections guaranteed to infiltrate your spinal cord.

Courting
Happy 2000

September 20th, 2022

When the moon and stars collided in 1953, something beautiful was born. It remained unbeknown to the general public until Courting formed, to shower the earth with their special brand of “music”. In 2020, after their ship was wrecked just off the coast of the Florida Keys, they found it within themselves to create a landmark piece of art. A piece of art so timeless, that they’ve been filling stadiums ever since. Indebted to their years of military training (and lessons in longform free-jazz), their debut EP Grand National is out April 9th

STAGG
Woodwife
Catherine Rudie
Chris Brambley

September 19th, 2022

ALT-folk artist, STAGG, plays his Edinburgh debut as part of his Tour of Scotland this September.

For a few special tour dates, STAGG has joined forces with support from some of the most intriguing and powerful performers in Scottish Alt-folk, Woodwife, Catherine Rudie and Chris Brambley. Expect everything from fragile folk to full-on tempest.

STAGG’s music holds its roots in Scottish traditional music firmly at its heart while wandering freely through influences of years of traveling the world with music as his guide. He’s most known for his innovative use of the accordion, which he combines with distinct and evocative vocals into a unique brand of folk-pop-fusion that’s never been heard before. His songs about nature, long-distance love and philosophies for the future are both timeless and pertinent.

“It is a rare and beautiful thing when a musician surprises you… an artist utterly in tune with their instrument, unafraid to find new ground, and, most importantly, with something to say to the world.” Martin Green of British folk supergroup, Lau.

BABii
Pholo
Dahlia
for fans of… Shygirl, PinkPantheress, Doss

September 17th, 2022

Electronic pop adventurer BABii is one of the most imaginative and immersive new voices in the UK music underground.

Widely supported by The Observer, Resident Advisor, i-D, BBC6 Music, BBC Radio 1 among others, BABii’s sophomore LP MiiRROR is an aesthetic and sonic exploration of opposites; where 808 bass booms sit beneath delicate, celestial chords and lyrics about shadows pirouette around glimpses of light. Audio samples move forwards, then in reverse, woven seamlessly into the fabric of Warne’s pristine production.

A conceptual artist both sonically and visually, BABii’s unique and instantly recognisable, mellifluous and nymph-like vocals blended with ethereal, textured and challenging productions have gained her a loyal following of fans. Music has always been a mirror for BABii. She hopes this album can do the same for you.
