Heaters // The Mirror Dance:
Ruf Dug

September 14th, 2022

In the game for nearly 20 years now, Ruf Dug’s a true friend to the club and still one of the best to do it.

In the last year alone he’s been nominated for Track Of The Year at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards, been made one of the hosts of NTS’s flagship daily Soup To Nuts show, resumed his DJ schedule in fine style, and had his productions make their way into the record bags of Moxie, Moodymannn, Ben UFO, Jamz Supernova, Gilles Peterson, Bradley Zero and a ton more.

As a DJ he’s pretty much done it all – from Pikes to Panorama Bar, Gottwood to Glastonbury, Brilliant Corners to Barbarellas to Burning Man. Absolutely anything goes, Poolside Balearic pumpers rub up against dusty analogue dreamers, wrong-speed jungle, slamming Detroit electro, private press outsider pop, Ruffy’s own productions and who knows whatever else – and he makes it hang together perfectly.

Hit up Ruffy if you want a GOOD TIME!

Blood Wizard
Auld Spells
ur.frnd
for fans of… Kurt Vile, Cate Le Bon

September 14th, 2022

Blood Wizard sits between the worlds of art, punk and folk. Influenced by the likes of Cate Le Bon and Arthur Russel, Blood Wizard was born out of a fascination with folk-lore and a desire to challenge their creative limits as a writer. “There’s almost something to live up to with the name Blood Wizard. You can’t have this name and not make eccentric music. It almost forces you to be Avant Garde.”

An act that straddles genres to create a sound uniquely their own, Blood Wizard’s brand of ‘Wonky Folk’ blends components of classic folk with this aforementioned avant garde to create an environment to which their distinctive character can wander freely. Drawing similarities to the narrative led by murmurings of Kurt Vile as well as the unpredictability of Crack Cloud, it’s less about fitting in for Burns and more about developing a world, where the mystique and sheer eccentricity of Blood Wizard can be fully let loose.
