Heaters:
Rebecca Vasmant
Annafleur

February 22nd, 2023

Scottish jazz extraordinaire Rebecca Vasmant joins us for a midweek special at Heaters.

With a fast-growing reputation for her unparalleled knowledge and appreciation for music in its many forms, each and every one of Rebecca’s DJ sets is the product of a lifetime spent digging for the less-heard, the unknown and unexpected.

Rebecca spent years promoting her own parties in Glasgow before holding a residency at Sub Club, as well as regular spots on BBC Radio Scotland and Worldwide FM. We’re delighted to have her join us off the back of exceptional sets last year at Dekmantel Selectors, We Out Here, Toy Tonics Colour Factory, Love Supreme and a bunch more.

MILKIT:
1-800 GIRLS

February 20th, 2023

Kicking off another year of parties the right way. We’re delighted to be Inviting our good friend and all round sweetheart 1-800 GIRLS to join us for a rather wobbly night.

After stunning sold-out extended-play outings on ubiquitous raw house labels Shall Not Fade and clipp.art, as well as broody emotionally tinged release on Feelings Worldwide, Lost Palms and his own imprint among others, 1-800 GIRLS continues to reserve a space of his own in the speed lane of modern intelligent dance music.

A past performing live in new wave inspired bands where it was not uncommon to find himself behind a keyboard, guitar or drum kit, informs the 1-800 GIRLS sound – underpinned by the contrasts of subtle nostalgia running alongside rumbling grooves, crackling percussives and gloriously staccato melodies, with spring-tingling emotional textures being the glue holding together everything the Hackney based artist produces. Often falling in sharp contrast with his own eclectic high energy DJ sets.

Gelatine
The Creamy Lips
ManyWild

February 20th, 2023

Gelatine -“Gelatine are a 4 piece garage rock band from Glasgow, blending different genres and changing pace on a heel turn. Pushing to the edge of chaos, they hold on by a narrow thread of relentless riffs weaving poppy melodies to create a feeling of uncanny excitement sure to pull you in”

The Creamy Lips -“A group of 5, dishing out an impressive array of sonic all-sorts, wrapped up in flavours of indie, rock, new wave, synth pop and more.  The Creamy Lips is a band that encapsulates uncompromising self-expression and a love for anything weird and wonderful”

ManyWild – “manywild are a 4 piece band hailing from Glasgow, serving a mish mash of frenzied indie, punk, new wave and grunge. Reviews of the group include: “My eyes became large and the light that they shone could be seen”, “They are my power, my pleasure, my pain” and “The more I got of them, the stranger it feels, yeah”. They have been compared to a kiss from a rose on the grey, are friends of all ducks and sworn enemies of Pizza Hut.”
