Lach in Concert:
Celebrating his novel “Langdimania”
+ Martin Metcalfe of Goodbye Mr Mackenzie

April 25th, 2023

Time Out London said of LACH – “New York’s living legend, the roots of modern songwriting: Bob Dylan, Syd Barrett, The New York Dolls, Nick Drake and Lach!

High praise indeed, but not uncommon for the founder of Antifolk, the international phenomenon that’s been cited as a main inspiration for such acts as Beck, Regina Spektor, Laura Marling and hundreds of others.

Lach is incredibly bright, influential, funny, smart, with his own counter-culture charm. He’s become part of New York folklore.” – Suzanne Vega

Lach’s great!” – Bob Dylan

He’s f**king funny!” – Nikki Sixx (of Mötley Crüe)

Lach is now celebrating the publication of his debut novel ‘Langdimania’ with a rare concert set in Edinburgh along with legendary Scottish songwriter Martin Metcalfe. In addition to working with the Talking Heads, Martin has written songs for & played with Angelfish (Shirley Manson), The Skids, The Rezillos, The Filthy Tongues and more!

A Lach show is a face-ache funny, beat-punk-unplugged joy, and likely to send you home with several favourite new songs”- The Guardian UK

Jane Haze
Sintide
I/O

April 24th, 2023

A massive musical mashup showcasing some of Edinburgh’s finest up-and-coming songwriters, with tunes spanning from dark-pop to uptempo rock. Featuring the debut performances of both I/O and Jane Haze, this will truly be a night to remember.

Jane Haze is an eclectic mix of styles pushing hard towards the alternative and gothic rock scenes. There is a heavy grasp on ambience and haunting emotions, however, the set is not limited to complete ambience and there will definitely be opportunities for the crowd to get moving.

Capping off our night are Central Scotland based act Sintide. The band’s energy brings an intensity to their stage performance that matches the sheer power of their songs. The perfect closer for this electric showcase.

I/O’s music pits soft, intimate vocals against a backdrop of colossal synths and distorted guitars. This performance will also see the launch of his long-awaited debut EP.

Agora:
Mor Elian

April 20th, 2023

For our second party of the year, we welcome Fever AM’s Mor Elian to Sneaky Pete’s.

US born but Berlin based, Mor Elian has been a staple of the DJ circuit for the past decade, filling floors with her unique blends of electro and UK focused techno. She currently holds down a stellar monthly residency on Rinse FM, as well as being in constantly high demand across Europe and throughout the world.

On a production tip, her label Fever AM was home to her latest release ‘Diva Test’ – an EP packed with everything we love from warped basslines to quirky breakbeats. We even named our party ‘Agora’ in the first place because of her track of the same name in her 2018 EP ‘Moves Like Atoms’. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for us this April down in the sweatbox!
