JW Francis
Canongate
for fans of… Mac DeMarco, The Strokes, Lou Reed, Steve Lacy

May 7th, 2023

New York’s very own JW Francis has announced his brand new album ‘Dream House’ – his third with London based label Sunday Best Recordings. Coinciding with the announcement is the gloriously up-beat new single ‘Casino,’ which offers a glimpse into what to expect on his forthcoming feel-good LP.

When JW isn’t writing songs about his own life or surreal imagery, he writes about other people – most notably around the month of February when he writes valentines songs on his fans’ behalf.
‘Dream House’ encapsulates all of this and forms a collection of glorious tracks written for other people:

“Every year, about 6 weeks before Valentine’s Day, I make the following post on social media:

“If you send me the name of your Valentine, and the reason you love them, I’ll write a song for them on your behalf.”

That is how Dream House was born, 3 years ago. Over the past three years, I have received over 300 requests from fans to write songs for their loved ones. All of the songs on Dream House come from this project, some of them have been reworked to speak more to the artist’s life, others have remained exactly as they were first written. Ultimately, this is an album about caring for others, and the way we express it.”

Palidrone:
De Grandi

May 5th, 2023

Parisian wunderkid De Grandi returns to Palidrone!

No holds barred, euphoria-driven tracks coming through from Paris via Brussels and being played out by big gun DJs across the globe — De Grandi is carving an upward trajectory soon to burst into widespread recognition.

De Grandi last joined us with Le Dom back in 2019, the same year his track ‘Paris Nord-Est’ was selected by both Resident Advisor and FACT as one of their best tracks of the year. In the years since, he’s gone on to become one of French club music’s driving forces – a go-to for cataclysmic festival weapons and banging experimental club gear that references techno, trance, dubstep and grime, while remaining completely its own.

Support from Palidrone residents J Wax, Provost and Dansa (fresh off his debut EP on the label getting spun by LCY, Solid Blake & TSVI +++)

Previous guests: 96 Back, Djrum, DJ Stingray, DMX Krew, De Grandi, Errorsmith, Galaxian, Giant Swan, Happa, Ifeoluwa, Jabes, Josey Rebelle, Le Dom, Loraine James, Mama Snake, object blue, Parris, Proc Fiskal, Solid Blake, SPFDJ, Stolen Velour, Teki Latex, Tim Reaper, TSVI, VTSS

May 4th, 2023

“Grandstanding Pop Music” – Clash Magazine

A medieval bard who’s got lost in time and space only to find himself in the 21st century. A high voltage neon tapestry weaving together pieces of the past and visions of tomorrow, a sunset disco in a stone circle, sonic heathenry at its finest, a cosmic renaissance man who’s perpetual search for self and sound has no end. After working as a session bassist in Manchester for members of New Order and The Fall plus BC Camplight and many others, Jack moved to Glasgow in 2021 to form The Dreamstriders, an alternative-indie/ prog-pop 5 piece bringing Jack’s cinematic music to a live audience. With the release of their latest single ‘The Witching Hour’ the band are hitting the road for their first UK headline tour.
