ALT-folk artist, STAGG, plays his Edinburgh debut as part of his Tour of Scotland this September.
For a few special tour dates, STAGG has joined forces with support from some of the most intriguing and powerful performers in Scottish Alt-folk, Woodwife, Catherine Rudie and Chris Brambley. Expect everything from fragile folk to full-on tempest.
STAGG’s music holds its roots in Scottish traditional music firmly at its heart while wandering freely through influences of years of traveling the world with music as his guide. He’s most known for his innovative use of the accordion, which he combines with distinct and evocative vocals into a unique brand of folk-pop-fusion that’s never been heard before. His songs about nature, long-distance love and philosophies for the future are both timeless and pertinent.
“It is a rare and beautiful thing when a musician surprises you… an artist utterly in tune with their instrument, unafraid to find new ground, and, most importantly, with something to say to the world.” Martin Green of British folk supergroup, Lau.
