Sneaky Pete’s takes over Cabaret Voltaire – In Aid Of Macmillan Cancer

On Saturday 24 January, Sneaky Pete’s Takes Over Cabaret Voltaire in aid of Macmillan Cancer.
Main Room: Electro, House, Bassline, Crunk, Disco and Indie from SP nights Playdate, Jerk Alert, Black Tape, Fake, and This Is Music.
Room Two: Drum’n’Bass, Dubstep, B’More, Breaks and Ghettotech from SP nights Coalition, Stepback and Nu Fire.
Now this sort of thing doesn’t happen every day… in aid of Macmillan Cancer, Sneaky Pete’s DJs are clubbing together to help Cabaret Voltaire break boundaries in music.
Sneaky Pete’s director Nick Stewart says: “Sneaky Pete’s is the place to consistently find the freshest sounds in Edinburgh, so although it seems like an odd thing to do, we couldn’t think of a better second home than Cabaret Voltaire.
“Sneaky Pete’s and Cabaret Voltaire have always been close. I think we share the same enthusiasm for new and fresh sounds, for being at the cutting edge of both Live music and DJ culture – Sarah calls it ‘Breaking Boundaries In Music’. I used to work for Cabaret Voltaire, where I learned about going out on a limb, pushing the fold and not just sticking with whatever staid formula works elsewhere.
“I’m very pleased that Cabaret Voltaire have given us the chance to showcase Sneaky Pete’s DJs in a bigger venue. At only 120 capacity, Sneaky’s is full to the gills often enough that it’s great to give our talented DJs a bigger room to show off.”
Cabaret Voltaire’s director Sarah David says: “I totally agree with Nick that Sneaky Pete’s has got some of the best nights in the capital. We spend a lot of time discussing music and bookings, keeping each other on our toes. So when I had a free slot, I knew I could trust his taste.
“This event combines some of my favourite things: raising money for charity, pushing fresh music, and having a proper knees-up as well! “
