Pins And Needles returns to Sneaky Pete’s after the summer break on 25th September with another quality live act, JAKEONE.

One half of acclaimed group TOOB and occasional collaborator with Red Snapper, JAKEONE’s live sets cut up electronica, techno and left-field sounds with his own live vocals, he has played across the world both with TOOB and Red Snapper and is well versed in providing everything needed for a rocking live set. He has recently finished remixing Bomb The Bass “The Infinities” and has his own E.P. “La Onda” due for release mid November on Process Recordings. BRIEF: Thomas Truax (pronounced troo-aks) New Yorker currently residing in London. Singer-songwriter and inventor  of strange self-made instruments like his now legendary ‘Hornicator’ and motorized mechanical drum machines including new ‘Mother Superior’. Employs these as well as traditional instruments in exceptionally crafted, witty and often touching songs. His activities have been documented in two feature-length films: ‘Instrumental’, from director Gabe Shalom (US, 2005) and  Adam Clitheroe’s ‘One Man In The Band’ (UK, 2008). With three acclaimed full length albums under his belt:  ‘Full Moon Over Wowtown?(2004), ‘Audio Addiction'(2005), and ‘Why Dogs Howl at the Moon’ (2007) Thomas took a break from near-constant touring and work on a nearly completed fourth original album to concentrate instead on an album of cover songs from the films of David Lynch.

The ever brilliant David Thomas Broughton stops off in Sneaky Petes as part of his headline UK tour with Twi the humble feather on September 23rd.

There is also local support from Ross Clark and the Scarves and Debutant.

imightdisco (one word!) are a five piece electro-punk outfit from brighton, with many influences ranging from the ramones to justice. imd have however managed to maintain a very unique and british feel to their music.

although imd have only been together a short time they have been down this road before, as most of the members have experience in other projects. with this line up they have taken that experience on the road, continually promoting their soon to be released new single; ‘we’ll take alice to wonderland.’

as a live act imd have been doing shows with the likes of kate nash, bombay bicycle club and elle milano. not only have imd shown us how true punk should be done, they’ve injected their own electro twist into their recorded work. they have also time and time again proved that they have the live show to back up the recordings, proving that they are ones to watch in 2008 and beyond!

“the synthesiser is an interesting tool, and though it was created in the 80s (or at least made famous then) it is by no means consigned to the depths of music history. imightdisco corrupt this technology to dictate their main sound, while the ‘oomph’ is added by the standard rock band format. the music clashes like the tide against the cliffs, wave after wave of electro punk that stimulates the medulla oblongata into a frenzy of emotion. a vibrating virus that is carried across the airwaves, imightdisco is not a rhetorical question; it is a matter of fact that is guarded by certainty.”
