Sneaky Pete's

Futuristic Retro Champions formed at Edinburgh School of Art in the summer of 2006 to record a song to soundtrack a film made by Carla Easton. During their studies they supported the likes of Friendly Fires, Kate Nash, Ladyhawke, Glasvegas, Bombay Bicycle Club and The Vaselines.

Having built up a collection of electro-pop tunes that led one reviewer to exclaim ‘their bodies must run on fizzy cola bottles’ the band are planning to release their music throughout 2010, starting with the FRC EP, available on ltd edition ‘vinylesque’ CD with five colours to choose from and as a download that you can buy from http://retrochamps.bandcamp.com/.

Now dividing their time between Glasgow and Edinburgh the band are looking forward to playing their adopted home City.

Muscles of Joy are a Glasgow-based band, who often use improvisation, unconventional musical techniques and self-made instruments. Since forming in 2008, this all female band has played to critical acclaim at Stereo, CCA, and the Bridge in Glasgow, Dundee Contemporary Arts and Le Weekend festival in Stirling.

Muscles of Joy are: Anne-Marie Copestake, Jenny O’ Boyle, Ariki Porteous, Leigh Ferguson, Katy Dove, Sophie Macpherson, Charlotte Prodger and Victoria Morton

The Village Orchestra is the solo project of Ruaridh Law, best known as one third of Glasgow electronic dunces, the Marcia Blaine School For Girls. Ruaridh describes The Village Orchestra as being ‘like an allotment or garden shed’, a place where he can relax and escape from the work and volume of his many other projects, which include Accrual (a collaboration with Alasdair Satchel) and Rose And Sandy (with Production Unit from Marcia Blaine, focussing more on the cross-section of sound and visuals).

Ruaridh is also one of the hot bods behind Glasgow’s very important and good Numbers clubnight.

Making jaws drop across Scotland, Three Blind Wolves is the full realised version of a band until recently known as Ross Clark and the Scarves Go Missing.

Like Micah P Hinson fronting a badass hillbilly rock’n’roll show, but bolstered by unfaltering songwriting, irresistible melodies, four part harmonies and good vibes, they are rolling like a train.

Recently seen as tour support for Frightened Rabbit – where many thought they stole the show – this will be an amazing year for the young group.
