Packing a hipflask full of Mersey moonshine and soul-studded country blues, this Liverpudlian singer songwriter will take your breath away. At a young age Delta’s ears were opened to a copy of country blues queen Rory Block’s ‘Best Blues and Originals’ and there was no turning back.

“I was in awe. I became fascinated by the style of play, the whole feeling of it. It was at this point that I began actively searching for the history and legends that were behind Delta blues. After hearing the likes of Son House, Skip James, Bessie Smith and Robert Johnson for the first time I dived head first into a world that has since become a part of my own makeup.”

Favourably compared to country and blues greats such as Patsy Cline and Emmylou Harris, 25 year old Delta is making a name for herself in new folk and alt-country circles and has already supported the likes of Ray LaMontagne, Martha Wainwright and Seth Lakeman with her Mersey Delta sound. ??

Die So Fluid are the modern incarnation of a ‘power trio’. Their sound is a harmonic mixture of metal riffs, post-punk eclecticism and bittersweet grungesque melody.

PS I Love You are a two-piece from Kingston, Ontario who make epic noise-pop songs from the simplest of ingredients. With only a guitar, drums and a few pedals, Paul Saulnier and Benjamin Nelson construct almighty, fist-in-air anthems covered in distortion, feedback and Saulnier’s yelping, Black Francis-esque vocal delivery. Having garnered substantial praise from all corners, most notably an 8.1/10 review from Pitchfork, they make their first visit to the UK on the back of some considerable momentum.

‘No Colour Too Strong to Paint’ is a forthcoming compilation album containing 21 tracks from Edinburgh bands. All profits from the sale of the album will be donated to The Sick Kids Friends Foundation. The album is being launched the same day and will be on sale at the gig.

With more hooks than a pair of really big curtains, LightGuides take a mountain of smart little ideas, riffs and rhythms at a time, and pack them together like Tetris bricks into intricate, intelligent little pop songs.

Their playful charm makes modesty of their clever, carefully planned guitar hooks that run in parallel, dodging in and out of each other while the drums pull shapes.

They’ve supported Frightened Rabbit, Twin Atlantic, The Rocket Summer, Silverstein and The Xcerts, played T in the Park, headlined King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and played a Detour Kidnap at the Anglo-Scottish border in the snow.

LightGuides have just finished recording their debut album with Chris Gordon (Union of Knives) and will be unleashing it soon.

The Little Kicks are a 4 piece band based in Scotland who are becoming well known for their distinctly catchy upbeat indie pop songs combined with their reputation for a great live show.

Since their formation the band have toured across the UK several times in their own right and have done so to a great response. The band have also played at festivals such as T in the Park, Belladrum, Insider, Connect and have regularly appeared on stages at the other major Scottish music festivals.

Over time the band have shared stages with the likes of Foals, The Vaccines, Frightened Rabbit, Glasvegas, Maximo Park, Mystery Jets, Errors, The Kooks, Editors, The Macabees and many more. The band have recorded live sessions for XFM, BBC Radio Scotland and have also been played on national radio by both Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson.

Not many bands have 15,000 kilometres between hometowns, but given that they are based in Perth and fronted by an Englishman banished to the colonies; The Spitfires are an Australian band unlike any other.

As a collective, The Spitfires’ unusual pedigree places them beautifully in the Australian music scene as both the outsider and the local… a perfectly-fitting outcome for a band whose musical background is as varied as what they’ve done with it
