Way back in ’07 we were into a fresh Institubes artist dark sending waves outta Brooklyn with an unforgettable house smash called ‘Hungry For Love’.
Then he disappeared…

Fast forward to 2013 and Curses is back with a vengeance, caving in the dancefloor walls with killer new track ‘So Good’ and a slew of mixes and remixes hitting the blogs. He’s getting props from all the current A Team like Jackmaster, Justin Martin, Skream and Heidi.

How did this buzz build so quick??

Simple: Curses is the alter ego of long-time friend of the venue Drop The Lime, head of the Trouble & Bass label. This is our first chance to book a Curses show but certainly not the first time we’ve asked, we’ve been asking him to drop in as Curses ever since that first 12″ came out.

Anyone who’s been to a Drop The Lime show (we’ve had 5!) knows that he’s one of the most energetic, charismatic and excellent DJs around. The Curses show is no different, but now we ge to see how he can really build tension and release wild bursts of energy, this is a man who really knows house.

Definition returns to celebrate its 6th Birthday. The club, which has focussed firmly on the talents of its resident DJs since inception, has only had 6 guests in those 6 years.

The 6th birthday on 23rd November will therefore unsurprisingly only feature the resident duo of Mark Balneaves & Martin Lightbody as they take to the decks, laptops and FX units for your dancing pleasure.

Since November 2007 the residents have focussed on providing underground house and techno with a focus squarely on the hot and sweaty Sneaky Pete’s dancefloor. The club was inspired by the sounds coming out of the sound systems of Sonar, Fabric, Pressure and Berghain and residents have again this year been travelling far and wide across Europe’s clubs and festivals.

Bass-infused deep house and garage vibes – Rain City Riot is the new project from one of the best known dubstep producers (we’re keeping his identity under wraps!)

Throwback classic house vibes, bouncy basslines, melodic 90?s pianos, chattering claps and timely vocal samples, all gone with groove whhilst holding down that deep pressure.

His previous fame has helped him score releases on some of the biggest dance labels already: Defected, Toolroom, and AC Slater’s Party Like Us.

Leif has been producing and releasing tracks for over ten years. A healthy organic direction of his sound saw him develop on own Trimsound label. Plus with other releases including EPs on; Moon Harbour, liebe*detail and Morris / Audio – leaves no room to turn a blind eye.

Further with Fina, Mindtours, Fear of Flying, Ornate, Sudden Drop and a remix on Galdoors, the half Swedish half British producer has been keeping creatively busy. Likewise a passion for record collecting has led to the launch of his label UntilMyHeartStops with Joe Ellis.

The atmosphere of music festivals often inspires DJs to experiment and grow with different sounds. Leif being a resident at Freerotation Festival provides him with the perfect platform to share a true experience of advanced music.
