DJ Hobbes is the scene-expanding DJ, producer and writer who ran the inspirational ‘Trouble’ night as well as related events for many years in Edinburgh. Also responsible for quality live showcase ‘Limbo’, and bass-warp dancefloor thriller ‘Wonky’, he’s made a lot of friends along the way.
With the launch of his Hobbes Music label, he’s seen that commitment repaid with stunning remixes of his tracks and those of upcoming artists by some serious talent: Neil Landstrumm, Craig Smith, iO, Auntie Flo, Optimo and more. What we have here is some of the best new Scottish acts remixed by Scottish DJs with well-earned international reputations.
On the eve of their 6th release (the last of the current series), Neil Landstrumm will play live to help celebrate. Neil is a significant techno and electro artist, whose impact in the 90s was enough that Daft Punk name checked him on ‘Teachers’. His catalogue across a huge range of worldwide techno labels speaks to his productivity and creativity. Still a vital force, we’ve thrilled to have him play live.
