DJ Fett Burger at Wasabi Disco

March 18th, 2017

Founder of the extra terrestrial Sex Tags imprints alongside his brother DJ Sotofett, Fett Burger refuses to adhere to any pre-conceived notion of genre, with releases ranging from house, techno, disco, surf-rock, dub-reggae and everything else in between. Their strictly limited runs of vinyl-only releases are highly sought after, almost fetishisized, and every one is a belter.

DJ Fett Burger has a habit of playing wild sets where it’s not just that you haven’t heard most of the music before, but rather that you haven’t heard anything like most of the music before. The man has an exhilarating way of making very weird music both danceable and uplifting. A truly iconic and individual dude.

XXXY Ten Thousand Yen Tour

March 17th, 2017

Now here’s a guy who’s music and mixes we’ve known for some time, but have never had the pleasure of welcoming before. XXXY unique take on house, techno and garage is built on sizzling percussion, weird synths, thick bass, languid melody and deep held down dancefloor pressure.

With a deep knowledge of acid house, New York and New Jersey house, as well as UK garage, UK bass and techno, his DJ sets are as eclectic as his productions as evidenced on mixes for Rinse FM, NTS, Fact, XLR8R and Solid Steel.

We particularly love where he’s been headed lately, mixing up jackin acid with disco funk, hard assed electro and piano bangers. Ooft.

Firecracker Recordings present ‘Heal Yourself & Move #8’: Nummer (Going Good), House Of Traps

March 14th, 2017

Edinburgh based label Firecracker Recordings have international reach and acclaim, specialising in oddball house, techno and electronics they have hand made collectable editions since 2004, topping many ‘Best of’ lists. Our man House Of Traps runs the label and holds down one of the best shows on NTS.

This month Heal Yourself & Move presents Nummer. Forming in 2010, Nummer is the pairing of 2 young London based French producers with an unquenchable thirst for acquiring obscure records & filling their studio with various pieces of second hand & custom built hardware / software. From classic ‘four-to-the floor’ workouts, creeping Electro jams & ambient, abstract soundscapes to deep outer-space arrangements, Nummer lay out raw drum tracks & emotive atmospheres with style & finesse.

TQD UKG Album Launch: Royal-T, DJ Q and Flava D | plus Taz Buckfaster

March 13th, 2017

“Garage isn’t a genre known for its supergroups. Those usually seem too formal or circumstantial for a genre so defined by rough edges, impromptu parties, and pirate radio broadcasts. But TQD—a garage group composed of the living legends Royal-T, DJ Q, and Flava D—is here to change that. Together, they make garage that is sleek and ultramodern, yet sentimental enough that it accommodates the desires of those old heads haunting the club.” – Pitchfork
