Oscillate presents: Krywald & Farrer

October 15th, 2018

Oscillate are excited to announce for our opening night that we are bringing Percolate creators, Krywald & Farrer. Percolate has brought London some of its finest electronic nights, with world-renowned DJs such as Todd Terje, Dan Shake, Crazy P and Mall Grab. For all of you who loved Gottwood, all the DJs performing on the Curve were hand-picked by the Percolate boys. We aim to bring some of that magic up North, to our very own Sneaky Pete’s.

Having also created their own record label, Persies, they have made some all time classic edits of tracks such as ‘Oye Como Va’ and ‘Gyspy Woman’, which has seen so much success that you would be lucky to pick up a copy of any of their work on Discogs.

We also have hard-hitting duo, Clay & Heath, who have recently launched their record label ‘Dancers End’, featuring some of the best nu-disco and house right now.

Following them we also have Oscillate creators, Timon and Hurran, who will provide some of their usual funky beats.

The Velveteers + Emme Woods + The Motion Poets

October 13th, 2018

The Velveteers are an American Rock outfit from Boulder, Colorado that is the epiphany of punk with the aggressive sound and grungy wisdom that transcends through the Siren like power of Demi Demitro’s (frontwomen/lead guitar) voice. Through fuzzed out guitar riffs and thunderous drums they lure their audience with vibes that come right out of a classic horror flick. In 2016 at just a year old and not even an ounce of music released, The Velveteers embarked on their first tour supporting Los Angeles duo Deap Vally, playing sold out theaters across the UK. Since then The Velveteers self-released their first six-song EP in February of 2018 and have been touring around the USA and will be returning to the UK in October.

Soul, sass and sparks collide to create one of the most exciting female singers of our generation. Blending rock ‘n’ roll and blues influences with a hypnotic brood and incredible musical talent; Emme Woods has curated a truly bespoke 60s sound that bangs the drum for everything that’s great about the Scottish music scene right now. Simply put, Emme Woods is an original. Emme Woods is feminine + ballsy, grungy + angelic, sultry + brazen and all the while with a strong grasp of the lonely-hearts club.

The Motion Poets are an alternative rock band which fuse together the loud and energetic elements of punk, grunge and indie rock. Heavy guitars and driving beats are fueled by pop choruses and a strong attitude which they toured across Scotland in 2017. Their debut single ‘One Too Many’ is out now across all major digital platforms.

Art School Girlfriend + Stillhound + Super Inuit

October 10th, 2018

Introducing Art School Girlfriend (aka Polly Mackey) – the most recent signing to Paul Epworth’s record label, Wolf Tone (home to The Horrors and Glass Animals).

Originally from Wrexham North Wales, Polly is now based in Margate’s creative community after spending 5 years in London fronting a shoegaze band. Art School Girlfriend is the next chapter in the musical tapestry of Polly’s life – exploring themes of lust, queer identity, infatuation and disillusionment.

Raised on the music of The Velvet Underground, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave and Patti Smith, Art School Girlfriend’s music is atmospheric and stark in equal measure: a perfect balance of calm and chaos.
