···

One of techno’s rising stars, Alexis makes her Scottish debut this October. With an already formidable array of appearances alongside some of the scenes’ leading lights (inc. Objekt, Paramida, Courtesy & Batu_music) and her diverse radio and podcast deliveries and you’re left with no doubt there’s big things to come for this artist.

We’re hyped to welcome her North to step off the large stages of London and into our Cowgate sweatbox. Resident C-Shaman sets the scene from doors.

Groovelabs ft Clubber2Clubber // Alicas

October 14th, 2019

Early in September we launched our new Sneaky Pete’s residency; Groovelabs. After filling the club wall to wall, we managed to raise over half a grand for The Calmzone! Naturally, we like to go bigger and better with things, this time around bringing even more heat with a stacked lineup!

Chester Cornford will be on the decks representing his brand, Clubber2Clubber. Also a member of West Coast selectors; Loose Joints, he’s guaranteed to keep the floor alive.

DJ Void, the mastermind behind Error404, will be throwing down some heavy beats and auditory treats.

Shepherd UK, producer and DJ extraordinaire, will be bringing some of his homegrown bangers to share with you lovely dancers.

For our second instalment, we have chosen to split our profits between Clubber2Clubber; promoting well being and good mental health amongst ravers just like us. And ALICAS; providing unique and repurposed clothing to female survivors of domestic abuse.

Just like last time, it is a £5 minimum donation on the door. Feel free to donate more or less, it all helps, and we’re all in this together. ?

Pom Poko + ORCHARDS
at The Mash House

October 13th, 2019

We love this band so much! They were our top pick from this year’s Great Escape Festival so we’re thrilled that they have added an extra tour date just for us.

Between the quartet’s sweetly punky melodies and disco-fried art-rock eruptions, a spirit of free-firing, balls-out individuality courses through Pom Poko’s exhilarating debut album, ‘Birthday’, just released this February through Bella Union.

Their unique creativity curiously melds together tonal lurches and math rock guitar riffs that are barely tamed by a time signature or key. As admirers have heard, Pom Poko’s music sounds properly played and performed: no mere recitation, it’s the sound of four distinct personalities driving in divergent directions towards one destination.

Leif Erikson

October 13th, 2019

Leif Erikson are a London-based five-piece who craft quietly emotive, effortlessly explorative transatlantic pop: five unique life journeys brought together under the namesake of a little-known Icelandic explorer, believed by many to have been the first Westerner to reach the shores of America.

At a time when an increasing number of new bands see depth and substance as a potential commercial risk, lead singer and guitarist Sam Johnston’s socially conscious lyrics project a disarming honesty. Here are songs which offer the kind of thoughtful interiority that, while grounded in intimate observation, feels instantly relatable to anybody struggling to find meaning and comfort amidst the hectic concerns of inner city living.

Hot Mess: 9th Birthday Party

October 11th, 2019

Edinburgh friends! Let’s celebrate 9 years of queer rave NRG at HOT MESS!

A lot has changed since Hot Mess started in October 2010, but one thing remains constant: Hot Mess continues to be a place where queers and their friends can leave behind the troubles of the outside world; surrender themselves to sublimely thrilling disco, techno, house, electropop and acid; strip off their shirts, trousers and bras and get sweaty without fear of embarrassment; make out with each other in ecstatic bliss; and come together for a few hours of transformative. hedonistic, utopian, chaotic magic.

We hope you can join us at Edinburgh’s loveliest nightclub, Sneaky Pete’s, to mark this happy date. Simonotron will play 4 hours of Hot Mess classics old and new, and you will help make another joyful party in the company of friends and lovers.

Tickets are available now.
