Rescheduling:
Black Lilys + The Big Small Boy + State Of Green

March 29th, 2020

One night, Three amazing artists!

BLACK LILYS are French brother and sister duo Camille & Robin Faure. They produce bright pop music that balances both strength and vulnerability, a smooth blend between Robin’s driving guitar melodies and Camille’s effortless, breathy singing. They offer a strikingly unique sound with their purely organic tones reminiscent of the work of Angus and Julia Stone, The XX or Aurora. Following the release of their debut album Boxes in 2018, Netflix featured one of their songs Nightfall for their series Elite. The song reached over the 1.000 000 streams. They are currently recording their second album.

THE BIG SMALL BOY are a DIY-rock four-piece that mixes storytelling with happy-sad melodies! Expect pigeons, spaceships and lip balm!

The Edinburgh based band released there debut album in March 2019 and are set to release their second album before summer. Check them out on Bandcamp, Spotify and your social media platform of choice.

STATE OF GREEN is a solo ‘loop rock’ act from Edinburgh, that creates a deceptively large sound for a one man show! The act has previously been compared with the likes of Alt J and The White Stripes.

Soul Jam: Medlar & Dele Sosimi (live)

March 28th, 2020

£8/10 advance **very limited**
>> available on RA: https://www.residentadvisor.net/events/1401137

We’re over the moon to be hosting a Scottish debut of a live show we’ve been excited about for a looong time.

Medlar, our good pal, past guest, veteran pan-genre producer remixer and editsmith is bringing along revered Hackney born Afrobeat legend Dele Sosimi, Fela & Femi Kuti’s former musical director and keys player throughout the Fela’s Egypt 80 and Femi’s Positive Force (yes you heard that right).

The duo’s energy first combined on a standout 2015 remix project that defined a sound which the pair are currently alchemising for dancefloors worldwide. Sumptuous, meandering grooves driven by samplers, drum machines; topped with dubbed out vocals, guitar and Dele’s array of analog synths.

There will be a live set thrown right in the middle of the night, bookended by DJing from residents Tuesday Gonzalez & Percy Main, joined by Medlar. What a bloody night!

Please note: very limited space for this one due to the live show being on the stage – we are therefore strictly limiting advance tickets, so we’d highly recommend securing your space.

We tried but we have not been able to reschedule this show.

If you would like a refund please return your tickets to Tickets Scotland who will process this for you and likewise if you decide not to take a refund we really can’t thank you enough as that might just keep us going a while longer once we pull through the pandemic. Oscillate Presents: Rossi.

March 23rd, 2020

THE SEASON CLOSER

Yes people!

After 2 years, and 10 amazing parties later, we are returning to our favourite venue in Edinburgh, Sneaky Pete’s, the home of our first ever night, to bring you Rossi for our last event of the year.

If you don’t know who he is, Rossi is at the forefront of producers in the minimal groove scene right now.

He plays music with the sole aim of lifting a crowd, his sets feature lots of cuts, hats and percussion which is stripped down on-top of jazzy and soulful basslines. You won’t be able to help grooving to the tunes this wizard will deliver.

Musically he is inspired by the sounds of Archie Hamilton, Rossko, Djebali, Michael James, Dimmish and many more.

His debut release “RKiNn” (under Ross McCormack) out on Modula Records had support from Jamie Jones, waFF, Apollonia, Rich Nxt, in venues such as DC-10, Burning Man, Kappa Futur, BPM Festival to name just a few.

Rossi’s most recent release for Parlophone Records, “Paradise”, instantly became one of the hottest records on the minimal scene and has thrusted the young producer/DJ into the spotlight for the entire genre.

Throw Sneaky Pete’s in the mixer and this is going to be a truly unique party Edinburgh is yet to have seen.

We can’t wait to share this one with you guys.

Headlining

Mike McKenzie

Mike McKenzie creates an eclectic combination of old meets new with extensive songwriting influences from Elton John to Brandi Carlile, Billy Joel to Tobias Jesso Jr. Growing up in a musical home Mike began writing on a banged-up piano, passed down over the years, as soon as his mother taught him the basics. Throughout high school and college he began his discovery of the music scene as a drummer for Edinburgh band JAKIL.

In 2010 he threw himself into songwriting and production behind the scenes, working with other singers he’d encountered along the way. It was after being influenced by his long distance partner in 2018 that he began to explore the possibility of releasing material as a solo artist and found himself back at the piano where it all began. Some people keep a journal to process their lives. Some work out or take long walks to clear the air and reset their minds. Mike’s way of navigating his labyrinth of thoughts is to pour his thinkings into his songs, writing truthfully and honestly about his life.

In September 2019, Mike awarded the inaugural BBC Radio Scotland Singer/Songwriter of the Year by judges Fran Healy (Travis), Geoff Ellis (DF Concerts), Horse MacDonald (Horse), Karine Polwart and Dee Bahl after playing his debut single “Love Like This” LIVE at St. Luke’s, Glasgow.

Kicking off the new year with a headline show on January 8th at the legendary King Tut’s, 2020 is set to be an incredible year for this emerging Artist.

“Love Like This” is set for release Nov 22nd 2019 and was recorded at the prestigious Abbey Road Institute.
