Postal with Lucky Dip, OISÍN + Heybreau

March 27th, 2022

It’s a family affair this week at Postal! Plant Bass’d head honcho OISÍN plays with his friends Heybreau, Chloe and loving sister Niamh who combine to form the formidable duo named Lucky Dip. An actual nightmare game of twister but one hell of lineup. Expect everything from ghetto tech to grime, this is a combo that’s better than (vegan) ham and cheese.

William The Conqueror

March 27th, 2022

Indie rock trio William The Conqueror might well have just dropped one of 2021’s sleeper hits. It’s a record of cuts and bruises, wrapped within bittersweet leftfield rock n roll tunes. The band is fronted by Ruarri Joseph, a wry, patient storyteller, who has managed enough living to portray a world-weary wisdom in his words, but balances it all with enough optimism to suggest he hasn’t quite lived. ‘Maverick Thinker’ is a record of short, sharp shots to the arm. Fuzzy college rock with chops, one foot lingering menacingly over the distortion pedal.   Recorded in LA at the infamous Sound City Studios, Ruarri, Naomi Holmes (bass) and Harry Harding (drums) rattled through the album’s ten tunes at a breakneck speed. Which turns out to have been a good thing, because the sessions were cut short as the pandemic took grip. With the studio doors locked, the band spent a final, eerie day wandering a deserted Venice Beach before flying home early, but with the record already in the can. All that chaos brings a certain unpredictability to an album that nods to some of the US lo-fi greats and yet arrives at something innately British.

Praised for their grit and authenticity by The Guardian and NPR’s Ann Powers, their live performances have drawn wildly enthusiastic comparisons to Kings of Leon, Nirvana, Buffalo Tom and The Marshall Tucker Band.

Telfort’s Good Place: Tom VR

March 25th, 2022

After what was supposed to go down at Hogmanay… STILL excited to be bringing my good pal Tom VR to Sneaky’s to join me for a more standard edition of this wee residency!

Tom is one of my favourite producers and DJs in recent years and heads here on the back of his amazing new album ‘Please Keep Shimmering’ releasing on All My Thoughts. The Valby Rotary co-boss man isn’t a complete stranger to the club, having joined for a classy Lionoil Industries affair a few years ago at the time of releasing his ‘Packard Sawmill Echoes’ EP on the label as many of you will know! ? Since then he has expanded onto Midland’s InterGraded label to superb effect with some beautifully textured emotional club tunes; released THE tune ‘Acheless’ (a guaranteed drop at this night even if he doesn’t… I’ve got you covered) and was frankly overdue to return to Sneaky’s.

So come join us for a fast track to bliss! ?
