Heaters // The Mirror Dance: DJ Python
May 11th, 2022
Four magical, sweaty Wednesdays coming up this summer at Heaters for the Mirror Dance Summer Series.
New York’s own DJ Python is first up. How better to ease into the warmer months than with that brand of low slung, blissed-out reggaeton.
You may know him for his stellar production, either as Brian Piñero, DJ Python or under his DeeJay Xanax, DJ Wey or Luis aliases.
Maybe it was an exceptional mix for the Dekmantel or Phonica Records Podcast. Perhaps you’ve listened to a Boiler Room or three.
Don’t miss this mastermind as he graces the booth in a highlight of our summer programming.
L’Eclair
New Date!
For fans of… CAN, Tangerine Dream, Boards of Canada
May 10th, 2022
L’Eclair is a cosmic instrumental six piece from Geneva, Switzerland. Their origins an be traced back to 2015 when, while studying in London, keyboardist Sebastian Bui and guitarist Stefan Lilov recorded several demos together in their hotel room. Hearing something special in this batch of songs, they returned to Geneva and enlisted Yavor Lilov (drums), Alain Sandri (percussion, keyboard), Quentin Pilet (percussion) and Elie Ghersinu (bass) to flesh out these ideas into a fully fledged band. The relentless grooves, classic tones and silky smooth melodies were instantly present and L’Eclair.
A band as kinetic as L’Eclair cannot stay idle. So when the Pandemic hit, they stayed true to form and began recording a new album. With their former albums usually recorded in a manner of days, live to tape, they took a decidedly different approach with this LP. Recorded in four sessions spread across nine months, the group and their trusted engineer (and manager) were able to spend more time, energy and consideration on the production. This new approach gave them the ability to reflect and revise, allowing them to focus more on composition, arrangements and structures The result is their fourth album Confusions: a sprawling hour-long, 12 track record – their most diverse, concise and focused effort to date.

Palidrone: Teki Latex
May 7th, 2022
DJ, King of Blends, Rinse FM & BBC Radio 1 resident, Boiler Room France host, co-founder of cult labels Sound Pellegrino & Institubes, former TTC member, Teki Latex does it all. Your favourite DJ’s favourite DJ.
Refusing to acknowledge limits between genres and rejecting irony at all costs, Teki Latex is renowned for his ability to fuse together wide-reaching and unexpected musical flavours, joining the dots between underground classics, future club weapons and iconic pop anthems. The results are never less than brilliantly WTF?
Truly one of our favourite DJs who we’ve been waiting (literally) years to bring to Edinburgh, where better than at Sneaky Pete’s.
Personal Trainer + Pressure Retreat
For fans of… Pip Blom, Do Nothing
May 7th, 2022
Personal Trainer is a rock band around singer/songwriter Willem Smit. Live, they have an ever-shifting line-up with members from bands like Canshaker Pi, Pip Blom, Bull, Steve French, The Klittens, Home Counties and many more.
Personal Trainer balances between a spontaneous and fun interaction between musicians being thrown together on a stage without having rehearsed too much, and playing well composed catchy and noisy pop songs with a rock attitude.
They were described as “a manic indie rock orchestra that taps into the wayward spirits of Car Seat Headrest, Silver Jews, The Fall and LCD Soundsystem, with Smit playing the role of everyman poet and ringmaster” and “Perfectly organized chaos.”
