KILIMANJARO, hailing from Southern Africa, raised in Scotland and now residing in London, combines his background of Afro-centric rhythms and influences with the fast-paced energies of the western electronic scene, where he has learned and perfected his craft over the past few years. The now FLY and La Cheetah Club resident brings his unique energy to every performance. Expect to hear an eclectic blend of Afro, Amapiano, world and party vibes from the jump, and come ready to dance. With releases on the way in 2022 and plenty of shows and festivals to boot this summer, there’s a lot to look forward to from KILIMANJARO. £4 RA / £6 OTD Turn The Tables is a mission driven project committed to creating positive change by making DJing and digital music making accessible to everyone. Kamora + Ten Eighty Trees + Primes
May 13th, 2022
Having met in 2016, writing and playing together intermittently, Kamora officially formed this in 2019. Taking the decision to write and rehearse together weekly, honing their skills as performers and songwriter, Kamora were on a mission to make a real success of the band. It wasn’t long before the fruits of their labour began to filter into the music they created, highlighted by their impressive debut release. Wild Things is an anthemic rock song that takes from classic rock conventions and blends them with the brooding, earthy vocals of lead singer Max Murphy. Memorable hooks are enriched by atmospheric keys and chunky guitar segments, all held together neatly by an impressively tight rhythm section. As well as the aforementioned Max Murphy, Kamora is made up of Chris Edwards (bass, keys), Stuart Mckay (lead guitar) and Dave Buron (drums). Based in Glasgow, their shared taste in a diverse range of music – from alt.rock to indie rock, metal and blues – enabled them to have an opened minded approach to songwriting. With the success of their most recent release ‘Incomplete’, followed by an official music video, Kamora are eager to continue to build their credentials as an up-and-coming indie-rock band in their homeland of Scotland and beyond.
