Tais-Toi: Asquith

May 30th, 2022

Back in 2013, London-based artist Jimmy Asquith quietly minted the now-ubiquitous record label Lobster Theremin which has since become a seminal global techno institution.

With the release of his standout track ‘Let Me (Rave Mix)’, Asquith has established himself as one of the foremost producers to watch – alongside being a refreshing yet seasoned DJ – and receiving support from titans of the scene including Fjaak, SHERELLE, Peggy Gou, Nina Kraviz, Marcel Dettmann, Jaguar, Haai, Emerald, Tijana T, Hessle Audio, Mama Snake, Tim Reaper, Dense & Pika and many more.

Asquith’s long-awaited label Higher Power launched in 2020, blending the sounds of fast techno with old school jungle, rave, UK breakbeat and more. The debut ‘Set The Trap’ EP from Asquith himself, takes us into 150-160 bpm techno territory and blazes an opener for what promises to be an exciting new home for electronic music in 2022.

On warm-up duties, alongside ourselves, we welcome E.DN and Mily B. E.DN, boasting impressive techno productions and Mily B, earning a well respected name for herself in the local scene, this pair will be perfect for setting the tempo.

Postponed: wych elm
For fans of… Snail Mail, Girlpool, Salvia Palth

May 30th, 2022

Hailing from Bristol, the haunting and macabre tones of wych elm’s distinctive indie grunge has earned them notable support slots with the likes of Black Honey, Snail Mail and IDLES. Blending dark, haunting tales with rattling drums and rumbling bass, the quartet have carved themselves a reputation for producing sparklingly scrappy yet contemplative rock.

Please see the following statement from the band:

‘We’re really sorry but due to health reasons we’re having to postpone our headline shows in April and May. Being on the road for extended periods of time just isn’t possible at the moment with those health issues. We will still be appearing at tredfest, get together festival, a stones throw festival and supporting Thumper at Le Pub in Newport as these are more manageable at the moment. We’re working on new dates for the headline shows as we speak and we’ll have information on those very soon so please keep hold of your tickets. Thank you to everyone who has bought one already.’

Livia Rita // FUTURA GLITCH // together with Avantgardeners +++

May 29th, 2022

A portal to transcendence is opening – queer utopias and environmental dystopias collide. Nature rebels; dark fantasy abounds; we the creatures arise.

Livia Rita is touring the UK with their upcoming debut album FUGA FUTURA. FUTURA Glitch is an experience of cross-pollination: Livia Rita will bring their ArtFashion, otherworldly dance and mystic eco-pop music ? ? Local artists and activists will enchant with their creative powers ? ?

You are invited to come and share in this ritualistic evening ? ?

We will create a space  for healing and reverie, an oasis in between the club and our community covens; where we expand reality, gaze sensually into the future and create a glitch in the system.
Premiering at Sadler’s Wells, FUTURA Glitch is coming to Sneaky Pete’s together with the Avantgardeners to form new alliances – stay tuned for announcements of local acts and cosmic beings.

Lionoil: Percy Main & Privet

May 27th, 2022

It’s a family affair!

This all night pairing occurred one August Wednesday at 5am back in the days before the clubs were shut (and reopened) and it was a blast. Formerly Heaters honcho, now proprietor of Meanwhile – Privet is a Sneaky Pete’s institution whose club appearances are increasingly rare. You know the craic with Percy Main by now.

THE GOA EXPRESS + special guests
For fans of… Pip Blom, Fontaines D.C., She Drew The Gun

May 27th, 2022

Teenagehood, brotherhood and a love for an array of alternative music has united Burnley’s THE GOA EXPRESS. The intensity of the friendship has resulted in the occasional bust up along the way, yet it only add to the burning chemistry which the band offer on record and on stage. Together, James Douglas Clarke (Guitar + Vocals), Joe Clarke (Keys), Joey Stein (Lead Guitar), Naham Muzaffar (Bass) and Sam Launder (Drums) all contribute to a fuzzy wall of diverse sound, becoming harder to pin down with their constantly evolving, psych-umbrella’d, rock and roll.
