Heal Yourself & Move

ack 2 Back / World 2 World / Dust 2 Dust

Trust is a must, along with: early attendance at the dance, open minds, open hearts, close eyes, close pals.

You want more words? Alright then, so… We looked at flying over some exotic DJ or other from some far flung region but the logistics were proving far too tricky this time around, frankly. Besides, we have our very own fairly exciting disc jocks to hand – themselves no strangers to the jet set: – Linkwood, fresh from recent jaunts to Barcelona and the White Isle, whose latest productions for fellow EDN imprint Athens Of The North have seen spins from all sorts of selectors from top to bottom; – and Other Lands – recently wandering as far afield as the Isle Of Skye, along with low key appearances closer to home including warming up for Sun Ra’s Arkestra, no less – also chalking up the releases this year, and also choking on another shot on the ones & twos at his and your favourite venue: Sneaky Peter’s.

All styles + all tempos + all smiles = LET’S GO.

Katherine Aly
For Fans Of: Jessie Ware, Hayley Williams, Billie Eilish, Chvrches, London Grammar

June 17th, 2022

Katherine Aly is a unique talent with a genre-defying style based in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Scotland-via-Greece singer/songwriter has already been championed by BBC Introducing, The Scotsman, Jim Gellatly on The Scottish Sun and Amazing Radio, The Skinny, scores of blogs and Spotify playlists and featured in Vogue Italia.

Katherine’s debut album, Shadows Are Made Of Light Too, funded by Creative Scotland and released via Metro 13 Records, is an alt-pop soundtrack of anthropology, written from a personal perspective while reflecting on more global concerns, intuitions, and realities; heartbreak, uncertainty, discrimination, and anxiety meet hopefulness, serenity and a sense of purpose and unity. In this album, everyday stories of vulnerability are given agency through songs made for everyone to dance our troubles away.

Katherine is chosen to be part of the Wide Days Talent Development Programme 2022 alongside Bemz, Calum Bowie, Savage Mansion, Swiss Portrait, Cyrano and Chef. Her releases so far include the singles Glow & Ignite (Single of the Week BBC Radio Scotland’s Afternoon Show) and Pariah, whose anti-discrimination video got nominated for Music Video of the Year by the Weekender Mag.

Katherine’s gained airplay on national radio as well as stations in the United States of America, Canada, France, Spain, South Africa, Hong Kong and as far afield as Australia and got nominated for Best Female Artist on the Online Radio Awards 2020.

Signal_005: Reptant (Kalahari Oyster Cult, Craigie Knowes, Planet Euphorique)

June 16th, 2022

Melbourne based Lou Karsh operates under the guise of an evil lizard called Reptant. Produced under a highly conceptual and contemporary approach the sound of Reptant has delivered an ever-innovative contribution to the musical spheres of IDM, ambient techno, acid and electro futurism.

Lukas’ versatility as a producer is apparent in the transferability of his sound. His music allows listeners to find solace both in the comfort of their homes as well as in being highly effective tools in a peak time clubbing environment.

His reptilian alter-ego has seen him traverse the globe, touring North America, Europe and Australia many times over. With standout sets at Berghain’s Säule and Warning in Berlin, as well as a legendary Boiler Room appearance in London for Scotland’s very own Craigie Knowes boys have built his reputation as one of the finest acts in dance music today.

Sell out contributions on top underground labels such as Kalahari Oyster Cult, Planet Euphorique, Craigie Knowes, Die Orakel, RAND Muzik Recordings and LKR Records (to name a few) has seen his music championed by legends of our culture since he burst onto the circuit in 2016. Rest assured we’re buzzing to bring him to Scotland for the first time. Anyway – Reptant – Scottish debut – £5 entry – Sneaky Pete’s Club

“The Coventry rabble making wonky Britpop for a new generation”

What do you do when you’ve created a monster? Such was the conundrum that Coventry-born, London-based quintet FEET found themselves wincing over one not-so-brilliant lockdown evening in mid-2020. A notion that might sound like it’s taking things a bit too far perhaps, but, as it turns out, taking things a bit too far was exactly the problem in question…

If the band were the class clowns of the UK’s new guitar music scene back in those days, however, they weren’t entirely to blame. Fresh out of uni, FEET had been snapped up by the prestigious management company who worked with Foals and Metallica, so they “just went with it” (the two have since parted ways); thrust into recording their debut album, they began work on it mere weeks after drummer Ben Firth had joined the band, and were still scrabbling together material for its second half whilst the first was being recorded. The fact that what came out – 2019’s ‘What’s Inside Is More Than Just Ham’ (a title they all groan over now) – still burst with earwormy hooks and moments of wonky, idiosyncratic excitement seems testament to the obvious talent that lay beneath the tomfoolery all along. The record gained them support from the likes of NME, DIY and Radio One, alongside support tours with Declan McKenna and backing from ex-Maccabee Felix White’s Yala! Records. For a group that could have been perceived as winging it, they winged it pretty well.
