Redstone Press & Friends:
Pseudopolis b2b Lewis Lowe

October 8th, 2022

Don’t call it a come back! Rapidly aging boyband Redstone Press finally return after a 3 year hiatus.

October 8th sees our last party of the year at our new home away from home Sneaky Pete’s. Pseudopolis has returned from his search for the “nEw SoUnD” with a killer club-ready EP that we’ll be celebrating the release of, that and the fact we’ve not played tunes together or even seen each other for bloody ages.

Lots of bangers, lots of clangers, mediocre patter and an intimate setting. We have something for everyone.

Miss World:
Jamz Supernova

October 7th, 2022

We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing the spectacular Jamz Supernova to Miss World!

Jamz is not only a killer behind the decks, but boasts a whole reel of accolades including Podcaster, Radio 1Xtra DJ, Label owner and TV Presenter (and that isn’t even an exhaustive list!).

Her Club Jamz mix series demonstrates Jamz’ more club-focused selections, away from the R&B and neo-soul of her Tuesday night BBC radio show, using the platform to share UK funky rhythms, garage, and other uptempo delights.

Her podcast DIY Handbook provides valuable insight and advice from inspiring guests and from Jamz herself, into navigating the music industry. It’s become a staple for us at Miss World!

Please respect your fellow dancers – all are welcome at Miss World. We operate a safe space policy, and a zero-tolerance policy towards homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, ableism, creepiness, or just being a downright shitebag in general. Anyone found to be being a shitebag in any of the above ways will be immediately removed from the premises. Respect your fellow dancers, don’t assume people’s pronouns and keep your hands to yourself (unless you’re given obvious and explicit permission of course)! You can ALWAYS approach Miss World DJs (we’re normally next to the booth) or venue staff if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. If you have had too much to drink, lost your pals or just want to be around safe people, come and find us to hang out or we can help get you a taxi home. Our bathrooms are gender neutral the night of our event so please respect each other in choosing what feels comfortable.

Sneaky Pete’s is accessible, however there are no accessible toilets – patrons are welcome to use accessible toilets at the Three Sisters just along the Cowgate. Please get in touch with us or Sneaky Pete’s if you have any questions about accessibility in advance of the event.

Dubinski
AlterModerns
Little Quirks

October 7th, 2022

Hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland, Dubinski are four inseparable brothers: Eugene, Fergus, Donal and Eoin Gaine. Originally from the remote green hills of North Yorkshire, the Gaine brothers lived their childhood in atmospheric and social isolation. A shared love of music was the common thread amongst the four, so they spent their adolescent years writing and performing for the sheer joy of it. Eventually the brothers moved to Edinburgh for their university studies, but the music passion never abated, so post-university they decided to raise the bar of their childhood music ‘hobby’ and make a proper go of it. Taking on the band name Dubinski (their late mother’s maiden name), the band wrote and recorded the songs that would eventually become their debut album. Working with Grammy Award winning producers/engineers Mike Horner (Yonaka, Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip) and Robbie Nelson (Beck, Jarvis Cocker, Rolling Stones), Dubinski recorded the entire album at RAK Studios in London. Dubinski’s debut album is set for release in Autumn 2022.

Heaters // haptic:
Holloway (Scottish debut)

October 5th, 2022

Introducing Holloway for his Scottish debut!

Haptic return for another night of raucous fun in October to bring you London-based garage artist Holloway, a mainstay in the London scene and a familiar name for any recent wub aficionados. Fresh from shelling it at Fabric a few weeks back he will grace our fair shores Wednesday October 5th for Heaters.

Having been pumping out high quality garage and breaks at a steady rate for the last few years on labels like Time Is Now, Dr Banana & Instinct, he continues to push the boundaries of UK music with his inimitable take on swinging drum patterns and low-end mechanics. Influenced by the darker end of the spectrum, his DJ sets and productions display a functional, euphoric & indelibly UKG-influenced sound, at times nostalgic whilst offering the listener something distinctly fresh and direct.

Support coming from your Haptic residents – u know the score x

LIFE
The Thaw
at The Mash House
for fans of… Fontaines D.C., IDLES, TV Priest

October 5th, 2022

“Every song LIFE put their name to has electricity coursing through it’s veins’’ CLASH

LIFE are anchored by their hometown; the geography, history and community has always been the inspiration behind their creativity and on their new record the band pay homage to Hull and its folk.

Their 3rd LP North East Coastal Town finds the band at the height of their powers as they carve up a wide-screen, brooding body of work that is drenched in a sense of belonging and reflection but still impressively maintains their trademark swagger and ear for pop sensibilities and guitar hooks.

“This band are flexing their creativity for sure, This is LIFE we are talking about, they’ll always have something to say, something to stand for, a band to get lost in for sure” Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1
