Dubinski
Dinosaur 94
Serious Adults
at The Mash House
for fans of… DMA’s, The Courteeners, Arctic Monkeys, The Cribs

March 18th, 2023

The bonds that hold Dubinski in place are unbreakable. Four brothers who’ve literally been through everything together – from childhood through adolescence, success and grief – using music as the gel to hold them in place. Brought up in rural Scotland – Glenlivet in Speyside, to be precise – but with deep roots in North Yorkshire, their songs could only come from a place of complete trust, shared adventure, and total abandon. And the musical result of this familial experience: it’s rock meets pop, delivered in a manner that’s uniquely theirs – high energy bangers interspersed with introspective repose, all delivered with electronic production in an organic setting. Dubinski are making 21st century anthems, and it’s time for the world to listen.

Billy Sullivan

March 18th, 2023

Billy Sullivan’s solo debut album ‘Paper Dreams’ will be released 10th March 2023 on Kickstart Recordings. Recorded over just three days in Liverpool’s Coastal Sound Recording Studios, ‘Paper Dreams’ is Sullivan’s first collection of songs since the demise of his former band The Spitfires

The singer / songwriter remarked on his upcoming 12 track release – “I can only really compare each album to the previous one. The last Spitfires LP ‘Play For Today’ was so thought out, from the sound concept to the lyrical subject matters. Every tiny detail planned and poured over and then of course debated. ‘Paper Dreams’ was the opposite – completely natural and a collection of songs that myself and Simon Dine just wrote for fun, without us particularly working towards anything in particular. I lost my way towards the latter part of 2021 and I wasn’t sure what I was going to do. I believe these new songs paved the way to make the decision for me to split the band.”

Through blistering opener (and recent single) ‘Running Out Of Time,’ the 60’s garage/freakbeat narcotics-influenced ‘The Fear’ to the beautifully mournful timelessness of ‘Old Familiar Ways’ and acoustic-led album closer ‘I’ll Find A Way’ – ‘Paper Dreams’ is an eclectic mix that oozes confidence, regardless of which musical path it ventures down. ‘Paper Dreams’ confirms that Sullivan is back. More focused, confident and with more bite than ever.

Palidrone 5th Birthday:
Hilltown Disco

March 17th, 2023

Ooft 5 years?!

The last couple times we were actually able to celebrate our birthday we invited some of our big gun heroes to play for us — Errorsmith, DJ Stingray and Solid Blake.

Now we’re celebrating 5 years of throwing parties, and for this milestone we’ve decided to keep it simple, by inviting two of our longtime favourite people in this game (and as quality a pair of DJs as any) Hilltown Disco.

Ben and Matt are proper heroes of the scene in Dundee and some of the best times we’ve ever had DJing and putting on parties have been with these two. They’re also celebrating 5 years as a record label this year, and the night of the event is when Dansa’s debut EP is released on our label, so it’s gonna be a proper party all round!

We’ll be packing a heap of electro, techno and party weapons for the occasion and yes, we’re doing it on St Paddy’s Day, so we expect this to be RAMMED – grab a ticket in advance to save some cash and secure entry.

Previous guests: 96 Back, Djrum, DJ Stingray, DMX Krew, De Grandi, Errorsmith, Galaxian, Giant Swan, Happa, Ifeoluwa, Jabes, Josey Rebelle, Le Dom, Loraine James, Mama Snake, object blue, Parris, Proc Fiskal, Solid Blake, SPFDJ, Stolen Velour, Teki Latex, Tim Reaper, TSVI, VTSS

Violet Monstera
Weathermen

March 17th, 2023

Violet Monstera are a four piece funk /pop band based in Edinburgh. Having only formed in March 2022, they are relative newcomers to the Edinburgh music scene. Since then, they have taken on venues such as The Caves, Teviot Underground, and ECA Sculpture Party.

Violet Monstera are thrilled to be returning to Sneaky Pete’s having previously supported Cathal Murphy. Inspired by the likes of Stevie Nicks, Wild Rivers, Lizzie McAlpine and Jacob Collier, you can expect to hear some soaring vocals and funky rhythm.

‘I felt like I was witnessing the start of something great much like somebody at the first Beatles or Nirvana gig. This is the embryo of a band that have a bright future’ – Colin David Plumb

This is not one to be missed!”

“To help with those rainy nights come Weatherman. A 5 piece band donning some sweet saxophone and violin with a cool rhythm section.”

Signal_009:
morayleisurecentre b2b Aidan Gibson

March 16th, 2023

Yes, Yes, Y’all! First off, shout to the dancers who rolled through for our party with the homie Privet – it was a fun one.

Club Signal returns to Sneaky Pete’s for our bimonthly bash on Thursday, the 16th of March. This time we’re joined by central belt tune merchant and all round legend morayleisurecentre.

The EH-FM DJ and co-mommy to Pretext Records has made a name for herself by smashing out a variety of the deepest, darkest and headiest genres known to man.

This time, inna b2b style with Signal resident Aidan Gibson, the two have decided to meet in the middle of their respective comfort zones and smash out a mouth-watering combination of dub-techno, Detroit techno, electro, breakbeats, IDM, braindance, and anything-else which may fit under the big tune category.

See you’s inside!
