Edinburgh Disco Lovers:
Cormac

June 23rd, 2023

No longer one of dance musics’ best-kept secrets, Cormac’s reputation as a revered selector has rapidly spread. The Queer Northern Ireland-born DJ is now soundtracking dancefloors the world over with his unique take on HI-NRG Italo-House.

In Berlin and Europe, he’s best known for his legendary closing performances at Panorama Bar and Snax. Sometimes running up to eleven hours in length, and with free reign to play across the board sonically, Cormac has fast become a staple on the line-ups for the club. As the light pours in on Monday mornings, the crowd are kept moving with a selection of his extensive 20 years of DJ knowledge.

Nathaniel Cartier
Becca Sloan
One Man Dancing

June 23rd, 2023

Join Swiss multi-instrumentalist Nathaniel Cartier his “Scottish Odyssey Tour“. With fresh melodies and infectious energy, Nathaniel’s heartfelt performances of modern popular music will leave a lasting impression. Blending pop, folk, hip-hop, and neo-soul, his versatile style creates a mesmerizing tapestry of music. Recognized by national radio shows such as BBC Introducing Scotland, BBC Scotland Afternoon Show, and BBC Radio 6, Nathaniel is now officially going on his first ever tour after being based in Edinburgh for four years, and bringing his music across Scotland with Nats Band. They’ll be singing and playing guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, and saxophone – join them on their Scottish Odyssey at the Sneaky Pete’s.

Two great Edinburgh artists: Becca Sloan + band, and One Man Dancing will be supporting the gig!

NC: In my opinion Becca Sloan could become the Amy Winehouse / Olivia Dean of Scotland! Her vocals are absolutely amazing, her band is super cool and together they mesmerize!

One Man Dancing is an unforgettable solo act who live loops beautiful atmospheric walls of sound with emotional vocals. You will find him busking around the city of Edinburgh providing immaculate vibes to the people.

Both of the supporting acts are amazing and it is worth coming to the gig just to see them!

MARGINS:
ELANDA
xivro
Sea Urchin

June 22nd, 2023

Summer is here and it’s time for your first MARGINS event of the season!

We can’t wait to have ELANDA blow up the booth with her signature percussive and melodic style. Seamlessly blending amapiano, dubstep, jungle, and afro-tech/house, her name has become a staple in the Scottish scene. While residing in Glasgow, the Afro-Scot DJ and producer from Zimbabwe heads residencies on Clyde Built Radio, It’s Not Radio and Check Your Ariel. Catch her iconic set from the Boiler Room stage at FLY Open Air or at gigs across the country alongside the likes of DJ Lag and Kilimanjaro.

Joining us for the first time is xivro, the Glasgow based DJ and radio extraordinaire. xivro can be heard on their weekly and monthly residency on EHFM as well as at their regular gigs up and down Cowgate. xivro’s Club Sylkie – a night for queer women and non-binary folk to explore bass driven music – was a big inspiration for MARGINS so we’re super happy to have them involved :))

And first up we have Sea Urchin! Known for their jersey club beats and high energy tunes they’ll get the MARGINS crowd going for the night ahead.

MARGINS is a club night created by, and for, people from marginalised communities within Edinburgh. This is a space where people can get together, dance, and feel safe and accepted – no matter their race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or religion.

At MARGINS, what matters is that you treat others with respect, love and kindness; to allow us all to rave and misbehave in a community of acceptance.

Heaters // Signal:
Laurence Guy

June 21st, 2023

Club Signal’s first outing under the Heaters flag is set to be an odyssey through the depth of soulful dance music and otherworldly house.

The Church alumni, Lo-Fi House innovator and esteemed selector Laurence Guy returns to our lovely booth for the first time since 2019s legendary Rinse FM x Heaters series.

We first heard a certain song called Saw You For The First Time in a love-based dance operated by none other than Move D in 2017. It has since gone on to become one of our all time favourites and represents an undoubted modern-day classic. As you can imagine we’re delighted to welcome him back to Edinburgh’s sweatbox.

Balamii resident and merchant of deep tech Aidan Gibson on from doors.

See you front left.

The Klittens
Fistymuffs
for fans of… Pixies, The Moldy Peaches

June 21st, 2023

The Klittens are five musicians on a mission, untrained but unbothered. A band for those who have a knack for happy songs and sad sentiments. Their music is a surprising mix of indie-fuzz and DIY. The result: a repertoire that reaches from dark post-punk to danceable songs about grandma’s.
