July 7th, 2023

A singular character in Australian music, sardonic and sentimental, Jack Ladder brings his towering and tender baritone to bear on tales of beauty, love, hope and redemption.

A master of musical narrative, he conjures lyrics that celebrate the absurdity of the human condition in songs that groove in subtle ways. Ladder has toured with and worked alongside some of the brightest names in the business – Bill Callahan, Angel Olsen, John Cale, Sharon Van Etten, Father John Misty, Weyes Blood, Alex Cameron and The Killers.

Volens Chorus:
Jai Dee

July 6th, 2023

This time round Volens Chorus have brought long time friend and your favourite DJ’s favourite DJ Jai Dee (FKA DJ Lucky Brand) along for a night of madness.

As of now, Jai Dee has only released two EPs, but he’s already creating ahead-of-his-time rave fusions that until now have only existed in our astute imaginations. Jai Dee’s music evokes euphoria and is host to a visceral blend of breaks, jungle and emotive leaning electronica. His music is a homage to hardcore and sounds of the 90s alike, paying tribute to a once forgotten era that will never die.

With Macranzo and Quarterpoundernocheese on the warmsing its gonna be a full house of outrageous tunes.

Get them ticks.

Auld Spells
Bütter
The Raeburn Brothers

July 6th, 2023

AULD SPELLS

Edinburgh psychedelic dream poppers Auld Spells are playing their 2nd live show of 2023.

Vic Galloway of BBC Scotland calls Auld Spells “my kind of soundtrack.” Ian Corbridge from Louder Than War has said Auld Spells are “definitely one of the most exciting new bands I have come across for some time” and calls their sound “a heady mix of psychedelic grooves, dream pop and a love of a 60’s girl group inspired wall of sound … A sound that will definitely appeal to fans of the Jesus and Mary Chain.”

BÜTTER

Look past the rolling hills and grand stately homes of the Scottish Borders and you’ll find a bourgeoning psychedelic rock scene is ready to burst out of the local pubs, caravan parks and surrounding fields. We first saw Bütter play live, outdoors under a makeshift tarpaulin in an abandoned quarry at one of their infamous ‘Quarry Fest’ weekends. We were instantly hooked with their hypnotic, high energy live show, dipping in and out of catchy modern rock songs and lengthy improvised space rock jams.

RAEBURN BROTHERS

In 2022, The Raeburn Brothers finally got the band together. Having written and performed songs together with a drum machine in Edinburgh prior to the pandemic years of 2020-21, brothers Sandy and Murray came out of lockdown set on pushing their sound further than it had ever been realised before – and that would mean finding exactly the right people to work with. Alongside the brothers we have Connall Bonner on Bass; Mike Johnston playing drums; and Glenn Hughes backing it up on keys, sampler and percussion. It’s now very clear The Raeburn Brothers are a five piece band with a sound that you don’t get to hear often in song writing anymore.

Haptic:
Introspekt

July 5th, 2023

Introspekt is one of the new rising stars of the modern garage sphere. The Los Angeles based producer has brought forth a decidedly innovative take on the UK sound with recent offerings on Shall Not Fade and T4T LUV NRG garnering critical acclaim across the board. Whether it’s fresh takes on beloved classics or her unique brand of swampy 2-step wobbles, Introspekt brings a sensual femme energy and a courageousness that has hugely brightened up the genre in recent times.

Fierce, fearless and one of the best UK garage producers in the world at the moment, we can’t wait to see what she brings to the Sneakys sweatbox this July!

Morrison Street:
Local Charity Fundraiser

July 3rd, 2023

Morrison Street use their July residency date at the famous Sneaky Pete’s to raise money for 2 fantastic local charities: Edinburgh Food Project and Four Square.

Edinburgh Food Project was established in 2012 to provide an emergency food provision to those in crisis. They now run 3 main projects:

Foodbanks (7 across the city)
More Than Food
Money Advice Service

Their mission is to provide emergency food supplies and support to people in crisis, while working with people, communities, and their partner agencies to address the underlying causes of food poverty.

Four Square is an Edinburgh charity supporting a wide variety of vulnerable people, including those homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, and victims of domestic violence. Employing over 80 staff at 7 locations across the city they provide support; advice; accommodation; and learning and training opportunities. They also run one of Scotland’s largest social enterprises, Edinburgh Furniture Initiative, where they re-sell donated furniture to support the charity.

Garden Centre
feat members of Porridge Radio
+ Serious Adults
for fans of… Daniel Johnston, Neutral Milk Hotel, Los Campesinos!

July 3rd, 2023

For years, Garden Centre’s Max Levy has been searching for a steady stream. A stream to watch sports on, a stream to glean information from, a stream to wade in. Occasionally, he’ll immerse himself shin-deep in an actual, physical stream: an activity that pulls him in closest to the hum of the universe. Living is a fractured and fractious experience. A stream is a promise of resonance, unifying our innermost being with our outside reality.
