Good Future

Sister Sister

August 6th, 2023

Citizen Live is pleased to host good future at Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh on Sunday, August 6th.

During the midst of what seemed like a never-ending lockdown, the internet was blessed with the musical stylings of Good Future. Based in their parents’ spare room (rock n roll right?) in Greater Manchester, Good Future came to popularity on Tik Tok in 2021 sporting a mullet and moustache look, that is totally original, maybe the first to do it? The popularity came after a few videos went viral of Good Future mashing up famous songs in the styles of other artist, another extremely original and niche thing, right? What is completely original is Good Future’s own music, which was released off the back of the internet popularity serge; the first song being ‘Socials’, which proved that Good Future is much more than meets the eye.

‘There’s no doubt you will have come across his videos online. Nathan Shepherd, the groovily-clad mastermind behind GOOD FUTURE, has made a name for himself on TikTok with his brilliant music mashups, performing contemporary pop songs in the style of distinctive or classic artists. Self-described as ‘thought provoking synth pop mashups with an underlying awkward arrogance,” Good Future’s videos have skyrocketed in popularity over the past year and for good reason. – Charlotte O’Neill / Checkout Mag

Good Future is a collection of Manchester based musicians performing the music written by Nathan Shepherd.

Fourth Daughter
Beta Waves
Sacul

August 5th, 2023

Growing up the youngest of four daughters, for Emily Atkinson music was a way of escaping the boredom of her life in the Scottish countryside. Her obsession with music exploded while exploring her parents synth-heavy CD collection and soon enough she dove in head first, and emerged as a classically trained pianist inspired by the likes of Rufus Du Sol, Jamie XX, and Sylvan Esso to name a few.

Music for all the family BETA WAVES deal in a familiar brand of retro futurism, mixing the palette of their nineties dance/electronic idols with the bright stylish production of the modern era – making for an overall sound which is as tasteful as it is varied. Dale Easson (Vocals & Guitar) and Harry Crossan (Beats & Synth) spent the passed year exploring and developing their sound with some help from producer Jim Lowe (Stereophonics, The Charlatans and Beyoncé) resulting in a musical collection of lush immersive grooviness set for listeners ears in 2022.

Sacul is an indie dream pop project brought to life by Scotland-born, Hawaii-grown artist Lucas Cusick. In April 2023, he released the first single from his upcoming EP, “Symphony,” which premiered on the BBC Radio 1 Gemma Bradley Show.

Mosaics

August 4th, 2023

UK Alternative Pop band WUKASA walk a sonically fine line between a chilled night in with the cat & waking up with a sore head, ringing ears and that special someone you’ve been unhealthily admiring on Instagram for (lets face it) way too long…

Having immediately captured the intrigue and attention of the country with their exotic blend of shimmering guitars, exotic synths and your favourite warm fuzzy 808 basslines, they have been described as a beautiful cocktail of Glass Animals, Everything Everything, & easy life. Such individualism has seen them appear in many strange & fascinating places such as New Music Friday UK, Hot New Bands, a BBQ pool party on E4’s Made In Chelsea and a completely unheard of UK TV show where people on an island try to find “Love”

Alternative indie pop band “Feels Like Pluto” was formed across the borders of Scotland and England in 2021 when the music world was returning in full force. Bandmates and best friends, Louie Thomson (Vocals and Guitar) and Josh Jackson (Backing vocals and Drums) bonded over a love of fellow Scottish band Fatherson, fine whisky and a want for positive change.

mosaics are a five piece indie rock band from Fife, Scotland. Their upbeat, vivacious guitar melodies and pop-inspired vocals are comparable to the likes of The Wombats, The Black Keys, and Two Door Cinema Club.
