Loose Articles
Awful Eyes
for fans of… Bikini Kill, The Raincoats, Dry Cleaning, The Fall

May 23rd, 2026

Loose Articles are a Manchester-based post-punk band carving out a sharp, danceable sound rooted in wiry guitars, driving basslines and dry, observational lyricism. Their music draws on the nervous energy of classic post-punk while keeping one foot firmly on the dancefloor — taut rhythms, clipped melodies and songs that move with purpose.

Lyrically, Loose Articles focus on the minutiae of modern life: social rituals, boredom, expectation and the quiet absurdities of everyday behaviour. Delivered with deadpan humour and an unforced wit, their songs feel conversational and pointed rather than confrontational, finding humour and tension in the familiar. There’s a sense of restraint to their writing — nothing wasted, nothing overstated — which gives their work a distinctive clarity.

Renowned for their high-energy live shows, the band have become fixtures on the UK DIY circuit, earning a reputation for performances that are tight, kinetic and quietly commanding. Their sound sits comfortably between classic and contemporary post-punk, nodding to the past without feeling nostalgic.

Beefheart and McQuinn
Ruby Milner
Etain
for fans of… Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills and Nash

May 22nd, 2026

Beefheart & McQuinn is the new project from UK artist Moby Beefheart aka William Murray (formerly of UK outfit Fur) and Melbourne / Naarm musician Winter McQuinn (Sunfruits, jade imagine). Coming together after a chanced coffee meetup, the musical connection between the two artists is palpable. Sharing a love for the folk and rock sounds of yesteryear without pastiche obsession, Beefheart & McQuinn make contemporary psychedelic folk / soft rock, a rich sonic tapestry of vocal harmony blends and deft musicianship / production. Their first offering ‘Hand In Hand’ is a song about the effect of a busy working life in a new place coupled with the feeling of isolation and anxiety that goes with that. Following the release of ‘Hand In Hand’ which was described as “perfectly emulating the kind of sun-soaked Canyon comedowns that ease the mind into Sunday mornings.”, the duo has supported acts including Leah Senior, Snowy and JB Patterson and are touring the UK in May 2026 with performances at Alt Escape in support of their debut album ‘Midtown Downtime’ out May 7 via Rainflower.

Our May instalment sees us welcome two of Scotland’s finest garage acts go b2b for huge one in the Sneaks booth.

Jenn Gunn has been a rising star in the Scottish club circuit for a number of years. Having supported the likes of Interplanetary Criminal, Soul Mass Transit System, and DJ Seinfeld as well as her own release on ec2a and her own radio show, she’s not one to miss.

Gau7t is a Scottish super producer who made the move down to Glasgow last year. Having played at every club you can think of as well as his tracks being supported by Kettama, Skin on Skin, and Silva Bumpa to name a few. With releases on Nervous Records and ec2a as well as supporting huge names such as Ben UFO and Overmono, his stocks will continue to rise.

Joining these two, BORLEY welcomes Liverpool wonderkid Baycantspin into the booth for his first ever Scottish appearance for their debut b2b.
