We’re delighted to introduce our next guest, Honeydrip!

Based in Montreal, Honeydrip has worked to solidified her name in the city’s underground dance music scene for nearly a decade. Her practice is heavily inspired by dub, reggae, and dancehall, which she hybridises and explores to create futuristic bass music across the BPM spectrum. Having released her debut album last year with Banoffee Pies Records, and premiered her live at MUTEK Montreal, Honeydrip continues to deepen her connection to sound system culture through her DJ sets, productions and her residency with party community Homegrown Harvest.

Hot Mess
Summerhall Festival Fringe Party

Scotland’s longest-running, most beloved queer clubbing institution. Since 2010 Hot Mess has brought devoted crowds of dancers a playful taps-aff delight month after month. This Edinburgh Festival special will be our biggest Hot Mess ever.

Eschewing big-name guest DJs and performance acts, the party’s success derives from ecstatic and arousing music played by resident Simonotron: tear-drenched orchestral disco, high-NRG classics and bleepy psychedelic techno.

Offering dancefloor comfort and joy for people of all genders, sexualities, ethnicities and ages, Hot Mess will blow your mind, give you little forehead kisses, and call you a good boy.

For our August special edition of Red Room Sound we have the founder and resident, Smiff celebrating the launch of his 2nd Solo EP of the year: ‘Higher Pressure.’ An EP incorporating elements of Techno, Bass music and Groove. Join him on a six hour journey through his club music infulences and tastes, starting from downtempo, low slung grooves all the way through to high energy, fast paced club tunes.

Kicking off our 5am series of parties at the renowned Sneaky Pete’s in Cowgate is a special guest, Onset. Hailing from Bristol, it’s safe to say that Alex Onset is firmly rooted within the scene, managing DLR’s Sofa Sound and Jubei’s Carbon Music, running an independent artist booking agency and as a long-time resident of Rinse FM’s Bristol based radio station SWU FM.

Sofa Sound, the Bristol-born, bred, and headed up by DLR and Onset, has become one of the most influential drum and bass labels in recent times. The label strongly focuses on representing the talent closest to their hearts, giving space to new talent as well as certified legends think Molecular, Trex, Black Barrel, Nymfo, Dub Head, Kolectiv, Teej, Zero T, and Minor Forms to name but a few!

F.O. Machete

F.O. Machete are back. The duo of Natasha Noramly (bass, vocals) and Paul Mellon (guitar, vocals) formed in 2003 in Glasgow. Their debut album My First Machete was released on Lost Dog Recordings.  After years of headline tours, high profile shows and festivals around the UK and Europe – Natasha moved to LA and in 2011 the band went on a long hiatus. In 2023 Natasha returned to Glasgow and F.O. Machete reformed. New single Confetti Crown was released on 26th April with a new album set for release in 2025.
