“Deafening dream pop.” Shoegazeblog.com

Virgins have quickly become one of Ireland’s most promising rising bands, flying the flag for Irish shoegaze since their sold out and critically acclaimed debut EP ‘transmit a little heaven’ in 2022. They return with a momentous new single ‘s o f t er’. Already a live fan favourite, ‘s o f t e r’ is a shoegaze tour de force built around a looping lead riff and the ethereal yearning vocals of Rebecca Dow, while gargantuan walls of dense, beautiful reverbs and dreamy fuzz, transport the listener to a world of abstract beauty and bliss.

The single accompanies the announcement of their eagerly anticipated debut album, ‘nothing hurt and everything was beautiful’ due out April 11th via Blowtorch Records on a pressing of 300 starburst vinyl.

Lionoil 10th Birthday:
Chrissy G, Please Don’t Goa & Percy Main

November 15th, 2024

Woah, 10 years of parties in the Lionoil camp!

From a sweaty dance in The Wee Red Bar with UNTZZ, through various festivals, Mash House and many many Sneaky Pete’s nights – we have finally approached a decade of dancing.

To celebrate we thought we’d go back to the beginning – hailing the return of The Artist Formerly Known As DJ Yves – Please Don’t Goa and a very special WORLD DEBUT of founding Lionoiler and Sneaky Pete’s frequent flyer since its inception, Chrissy G. Yes you heard it right – the first and possibly last time Chrissy G will take control of the Sneaks booth. Both accompanied by Percy Main Again (again, again) – to steady the ship.

Bring your dancing trainers and your lovely pals and celebrate a decade of parties with us x

Random Rules:
Georgie & Joe
YARD
SHEARS
for fans of… Erika de Casier, George Riley, SCALER, Gilla Band

November 15th, 2024

UK vocalists, songwriters, multi-instrumentalists, and producers Georgie and Joe, release their hotly anticipated second single “Nobody Will Love You”, an unapologetically supercharged heater coming out at the top of the summer. On the production side Georgie & Joe explain “With this song, we’d made this really fun instrumental, a mix of acid bass lines, drum breaks, and these chords oozing summer euphoria. Then we decided to play around with vocal samples to go on top, quickly pitching and speeding them up. Georgie re-recorded some of them, and everything fell into place really quickly.”

Nobody Will Love You follows Georgie and Joe debut single Student, a UKG inflected pop song. On release they quickly became an exciting and talked about new artist with support from The Fader, Notion, Clash Mag, Gorilla v Bear, Line of Best Fit, and many others catapulting them to the top of Hype Machine, and multiple spins on Radio 1 supported by Jack Saunders – Future Artists, Jaguar – BBC Introducing Radio 1 Dance and Jess Iszatt – BBC introducing. This led to many eagerly waiting for what’s next…

‘’Nobody will love you (love you like I do)’ is the main lyric – the track is about love but for Georgie and Joe the real message is transmitting the fun they had making it. They say: “As soon as you hear the song you know exactly how to feel and you immediately want to be with your friends in the sun”. Georgie and Joe want you to feel as good listening to it as they did making it.
