mantle:
Jan Loup
Sharnie
Feena

October 10th, 2025

on the 10th of october, mantle welcomes two revered artists who are pushing boundaries in club music experimentation and low end exploration.

Hailing from Birmingham, Rinse FM resident Sharnie thoughtfully crafts innovative bass-driven sets, weaving between wavy, dubbed out sounds to warping, driving techno. From shelling it at DaMetalMassiah takeover at Outlook, to appearing in Paris for labels BAIT & Dimeshift, Sharnie can bring the heat with weighty system sounds while also inviting those on the dance floor to listen deeper.

Jan Loup’s productions are just as technically mind-blowing as they are danceable – with unexpected twists and turns through dubstep, jungle influenced half time and drum & bass. Her music extracts new meanings and stories from the raw force of sound, creating immersive experiences for her audience. Working with Sha Ru, Beatrice M. and more, with releases on Jupiter4 & naff recordings, Jan Loup is one of the key artists in this new wave of futuristic bass music.

Wine Lips
Gloin
at The Mash House
for fans of… Osees, Ty Segall, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

October 9th, 2025

It’s been one hell of a wild ride for Wine Lips. Originally formed in Toronto back in 2015 as a part-time project between Cam Hilborn (vox, songwriter, guitar) and drummer extraordinaire Aurora Evans, Wine Lips quickly escalated into a full-blown, full-time, full-on international phenomenon.

In 2020 the band used their mandatory downtime to fully dedicate themselves to crafting their groundbreaking third full-length “Mushroom Death Sex Bummer Party”. The record was released in October 2021 and then sh*t really hit the fan. The international music press lost their collective minds, penning over 250 glowing reviews. The album blasted past 20 Million spins on Spotify. The vinyl release of MDSBP is currently in its 7th pressing with 9 different colour variants. The lead track “Eyes” has been licensed to a metric ton of films, series and video games. Even more endless touring ensued, except this time the venues were huge and mostly sold-out.

Which brings us to the new record… “Super Mega Ultra” is an absolute beast. Recorded by Simon Larochette at The Sugar Shack in Ontario, the album is jam-packed with 12 ramped-up supersonic ear-scorching auditory delicacies. SMU is probably Wine Lips’ most ambitious undertaking to date, exploring new thematic territory while firmly maintaining their signature psych garage punk rock panache. Y. The wild ride continues!

“Now that’s what I call music!.” – Iggy Pop BBC Radio

Legss
for fans of Black Midi, The Fall, Dry Cleaning, Squid

October 9th, 2025

Merging a dynamic sound of intricate guitars, disquieting monologues and a rhythm section both technical and unruly, London’s Legss create a wholly unique sound: “there is a case to be made that Legss are one of the most underrated acts to grace the British musical landscape today” (So Young).

After meeting and forming in London, Legss released their experimental, darkly satirical debut EP Writhing Comedy in 2019, which received airplay on BBC 6 Music, “its stabbing, urgent musicality setting the group apart from their peers” (Robin Murray, Clash).

Just a year later the band’s much-anticipated, genre-bending sophomore EP Doomswayers was released in the shadow of the pandemic, championed by BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders and BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq, “ambitious and accomplished, an imaginative shot in the arm in a year when bluff doggerel passes for poetry and insight.” (Echoes and Dust).

Following the release of their single Hollywood, Legss signed to The state51 Conspiracy and released their third EP Fester in 2023, recorded at The Church, which saw acclaim from the likes of the Sunday Times, Quietus, Independent, NPR, Line of Best Fit, So Young Magazine, DORK, L&Q, and DIY.

Balancing Act

October 7th, 2025

Since their 2022 debut, Balancing Act have sat safely atop ‘Ones to Watch’ lists, being
tipped by Radio 1, Jack Saunders, 6 Music, Clash, Dork Magazine, and DIY Magazine. Their
previous EP, Tightropes And Limericks, showed the band coming into their own: their
songwriting had matured, their identity sharpened, and their lyricism became more personal
than ever. With their live show being likened to “mentos in a Coke bottle”, the band’s live
reputation has been built through a series of high-energy, sold-out headline shows across
London, Manchester, Paris, and Amsterdam. The band this year launch their most ambitious
chapter yet, their debut album Who’ve You Come As?, released in two parts, with the first
arriving on October 3rd.
