Scottish rock outfit Sucioperro will be joining the Xtra Mile Recordings family (Far, Reuben, Frank Turner…) for the release of their forthcoming album ‘The Heart String & How To Pull It’. The album will be the trio’s third full-length record and it is to be released on the 7th March on CD and download. Not being a band who seem to suffer from writers block, ‘The Heart String & How To Pu…ll It’ will be preceded by the release of a 6 track EP titled ‘Reflexes of the Dead’ a week earlier (28th February) with the title track from the EP also appearing on the full-length album.

As well as being highly prolific song writers Sucioperro are very familiar with the live circuit having toured with Hell Is for Heroes, Oceansize, Reuben, Brigade, Fightstar and Biffy Clyro in the past. The latter, are in fact good friends with the band with Biffy frontman Simon Neil and Sucioperro front man JP Reid coming together to form their alter-ego Marmaduke Duke.

‘The Heart String & How To Pull It’ was mixed by super-producer Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Pixies, Reuben, Therapy?…) and recorded at The Lair in Scotland.

He Slept On 57 hail from the highlands of Scotland… Inverness to be exact. They are a three piece that fall into the category somewhere under rock. Following the release of their debut EP, the band supported the likes of The Xcerts, Flood Of Red, Sucioperro, Yashin, Canterbury and The Gap Year Riot.

Edinburgh based 3 piece citing 1930s aviation memorabilia as an influence. Aviation For Kids tout heartfelt Scottish alternative rock to die for, with upcoming support slots with Penguins Kill Polar Bears, Trapped In Kansas and Pensioner things are going from strength to strength.

Christian Cuff is renowned for live performances that deftly blend light-spirited banter with powerhouse pieces that are at times dark, brooding and aggressive. His music draws its roots in the rugged coastline of Maine and the gritty streets of New York City, and these backgrounds are reflected in the honesty, raw emotion, and quick wit inherent in Cuff’s work.

Will Kevans – As featured in Mojo, Q, The Times, Maverick, and playlisted on Radio 2, Will Kevans is an award-winning singer-songwriter and cartoonist. He is signed to Judy Collins’ New York label, Wildflower Records and is married to the artist, Annie Kevans. He spent last year touring with The South (ex-Beautiful South).

Emily Baker won the Arts Foundation Songwriting Award 2009 presented by Annie Lennox. Pete Doherty cited her as the person who first influenced him to pick up a guitar. Emily was reunited with Doherty, supporting him both at Bournemouth Opera House and Hackney Empire. Her long awaiting debut album will be released end of March 2011. www.myspace.com/emilybakermusic

Fiona Sally Miller – featured by the Evening Standard as an act to watch, Fiona Sally Miller has already performed at the likes of the Union Chapel London and The Green Man Festival. Her debut album is released March 2011.

Washington Irving are an indie-folk sextet from Glasgow who’s powerful blend of storming vocals, folksy guitars, flute driven melodies and pounding drums is seeing the band form a fanatical fan base across the country.

The release of their debut EP ‘Little Wanderer, Head Thee Home’, produced by Marcus Mackay (Frightened Rabbit, Snow Patrol, Sparrow & The Workshop), has received airplay from the likes of Vic Galloway and Huw Stephans on Radio 1, and has been a regular on BBC 6 music by Tom Robinson.

On the back of their release, the band have toured all over Scotland, had an appearance at T in the Park Festival, played at a sold out show at the Lexington in London with Dry the River and finished the year off in style with a session on Radio 1 with Vic Galloway, and dates in Middlesbrough, and Newcastle
with fellow Glasgow band Woodenbox & a Fistful of Fivers.

2011 looks set to be a very exciting one, with a sell out King Tuts show to start the year off, Washington
Irving step into the studio to record their next item for release in April, and plan to travel further afield to
spread their ever growing fan base.
