Explosive and emotive folk rock 5-piece Red Kites formed in September 2010 at The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford. A shared love of modern folk and rock drove the direction of the sound, and the member’s very different musical backgrounds added unexpected ingredients into the mix, leading to a sound that was original while channelling the sound of hundreds of musical influences. The debut E.P ‘Beat in Time’ was released in April 2012, and the band went on to play several Scottish festivals that summer, including Rockness, Belladrum and Go North. They are currently on tour in the UK promoting their second E.P. ‘New Life Ignites’
