Auntie Flo ‘Radio Highlife’ Live Show

December 2nd, 2018

We’ve had a years-long journey with Brian D’Souza aka Auntie Flo, and we’re seriously thrilled to be on board for the next stage.

The Auntie Flo ‘Radio Highlife’ live show will be an engaging live rendition of not only his newly released album on Gilles Peterson’s Brownwood Recordings, but an expansive summation of his career thus far. Seven years of wild travelling, serendipitous encounters, deeply personal moments are packed into the live show with field recordings and themes from everywhere from Cuba to Cape Town, Bali to Kampala and voices from Russia, Istanbul, Senegal and the UK expertly fused together in an ambitious and original global statement.

We are proud to be a PRS Foundation ‘Talent Development Partner’ and with their help we have been able to curate our ‘New Waves’, ‘Night Music’ and ‘Central Belters’ programmes.

Firecracker Recordings present
Heal Yourself & Move #18:
Mac-Talla Nan Creag (House of Traps, Lord Of The Isles, Other Lands) All Night Live and DJ

December 1st, 2018

Rounding out 2018 with their 18th event, no less, HYAM are proud to bursting point to bring you a rare and exclusive urban sighting of the elusive beard & bard combo responsible for 2014’s LP of the same name, now followed up by the second outing ‘Sorrow Of Derdriu’.

Made once again in conjunction with Forestry Commission Scotland, our sonic explorers Hoch Ma Toch, House Of Traps, Lord Of The Isles and Other Lands have refined their freeform channeling of ancient and primordial forces via futuristic sound sources to a tight and effective electro-organic stomp, ready for the floor like never before.

Performing live early doors, with an extended b2b from all four of the crew, we advise you get there early to experience the full trip in all its majesty.

Inyal plus guests

December 1st, 2018

“Inyal’s sweeping soundscapes are sure to provide the backdrop to many a late-night gathering as we move into the long days of summer and beyond.”

— The National

Melding traditional Scottish music with new sounds from electronica and elsewhere, Inyal are one of Glasgow’s most hotly-tipped young bands.

They have had sell out shows and features in The Scotsman and The National. Their melting pot of styles has being showcased on BBC Alba and RTÉ, and the main stages of festivals around the country, including Celtic Connections and the Hebridean Celtic Festival.

We are proud to be a PRS Foundation ‘Talent Development Partner’ and with their help we have been able to curate our ‘New Waves’, ‘Night Music’ and ‘Central Belters’ programmes.

November 30th, 2018

It’s a birthday!

Surprisingly, Telfort and Percy haven’t ever done the back to back thing at a Lionoil party before (apart from that time FYI Chris were at Sneaks with Percy and he popped by at 4am, plugged in, played Rui Da Silva, got the club taps aff and mic dropped back to his other gig down the road).

Keep your eyes peeled for birthday surprises…

Big up anu, Sofay, Lena Willikens, Violet, Bradley Zero, ELLES, Medlar, Pellegrino & Andrea Montalto for soundtracking this year of parties. Best yin so far, by far! ?

Drahla + Sleep Eaters + Bluebirds

November 28th, 2018

“Drahla are the UK’s most uncompromising new band”

– DIY Magazine

Dark, intense heads-down punk that will thrill fans of early Sonic Youth. Drahla formed when basssist and singer Luciel and guitarist Rob dingied their London bolt-holes to work back home in Leeds with drummer Mike instead: “There’s so much freedom out of the spotlight”.

Working with Hookworms’ MJ on their debut album, they’ve honed a ferocious sound that’s gotten even tighter and more monstrous after tours with Metz and Ought.

We are proud to be a PRS Foundation ‘Talent Development Partner’ and with their help we have been able to curate our ‘New Waves’, ‘Night Music’ and ‘Central Belters’ programmes.
