Mellor

October 21st, 2022

Fresh from releasing their latest single ‘Gargoyle Groove’, on the 12th of August, Reading 4 piece Mellor are heading out on their biggest tour to date. The single is the first to be shared from their forthcoming debut album, ‘Problematic Passions’, which is set to be released on the 11th of November via Triple B Records. Notably, their previous EP, Dive into the Strange, reached #2 on the iTunes rock album chart and #3 on the Amazon Music rock album chart. The band has already earned over 3 million streams across platforms with publication support from Louder Than War, The Hype Magazine as well as radio coverage from BBC Radio 1’s Abbie McCarthy and BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson amongst others.

Despite reaching their well grafted milestones to date, Mellor are yet to work with a label, booking agent, or management since their inception in 2017. Drawing on a diverse range of musical inspirations such as Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro, Stone Roses, The Mars Volta, Libertines, The Smiths, Foo Fighters, Wesley Gonzalez, and Foals, their sound and live shows dance on a knife-edge, executing their sonic ideas with surgical precision.

[On ‘Lost in This World’] “The perfect mash-up of solid cool indie underpinned by a punk ethic.”

Louder Than War

[On ‘Vacant Stare’] “It is clear these boys mean business as their latest effort sees them rattle off one powerful hook after another, creating one of the most intense listening experiences of their career so far.”

Signal_007:
Roza Terenzi

October 20th, 2022

Club Signal turns 1! Big love to everyone who’s danced, mixed and of course special mention to our dear Rory who has been designing our visuals since day one and of course the whole team at the club. It’s been a blast hosting these nights and contributing to such amazing dances at our beloved wee Sneaks.

To celebrate we’ve just gone and done it:

Roza Terenzi – Scottish Debut – Sneaky Pete’s Club – 20th of October

The Perth-born DJ and producer steps straight off the Dekmantel mainstage into Sneaky Pete’s for a night of interplanetary rhythms, progressive basslines, euphoric trance and bleeped-out, breaky techno music.

As a musician of unparalleled calibre, she has gone from strength to strength since bursting onto the scene in 2016. Her critically renowned Boiler Room debut has since amassed hundreds of thousands of views and cemented her place in the history books as one of the most influential DJs of the last decade. In addition to this, she has become one of the most sought-after producers in the game generating a seemingly never-ending supply of club-ready heat which never fails to rock the dance until the early hours of the morning.

This will go down as one of the hottest nights out since the pandemic, so please don’t sleep and grab your tickets while they’re there.

Hypnotikk x Heaters presents: Mina

October 19th, 2022

We are so grateful to everyone who came down to Hypnotikk’s September gaff – we can’t believe we sold out! Thank you to all the ravers in the nation.
But the grind doesn’t stop here – we are thrilled to announce next month’s revelry which we know will raise the temperature in the sweatbox to never before seen levels.

Mina is our headliner for October and she needs absolutely no introduction but we’re gonna give her one anyway. The mastermind behind the global label Earth Kicks, a member of the infectiously cool Boko! Boko! collective, and founder of the grant support org Funding with Mina, she is not only an unbelievably talented deejay but one who seriously lifts up the people around her. If you want to be one of those people, if you want to be lifted unto the sky, then grab a ticket. If you want to see for yourself what she’s about, she has not only a Boiler Room to her name, but some filthy Hoer.berlin and Carnival sets. Expect her signature brand of uptempo funky, afrobeats and trancehall. Not sure what that is? It sounds cool doesn’t it? Come and find out.

Supporting Mina we have the masterful Kaypunk, a Glasgow-based selector and producer who as if he wasn’t busy enough already is also the co-founder of @legsevents, one of the city’s grooviest nights. Kaypunk has promised big things for his first trip to the capital and judging by his performances out west, no one is going to be disappointed. Expect big grooves, bigger melodies and a whole heap of soul.

Rounding out the bill is our very own Still Waveley, whose September headline slot brought the kind of energy which makes you question the existence of God. Apparently he absorbs the energy of DJs on his lineup and stores it in little crystals he keeps round his neck to ward off bad vibes. He’s bringing his customary notorious range of selections, from the poppiest bangers to the duttiest clangers and everything funky in between.

Insider Trading
Verces

October 19th, 2022

Formed in January 2022, Insider Trading are an upcoming Edinburgh based post punk outfit. They combine fast paced guitar driven rhythms with some of the more somber and melodramatic aspects of post rock, as well as the loud cascading tones of shoegaze to create their unique sound.
Inspired by bands such as Slint, Black Country New Road, My Bloody Valentine, and Mogwai, the band forms a sound recognisable not only for its intense powerful choruses, but also for its quieter more emotional moments. Loud, half spoken have shouted vocals pair with complex guitar riffs, alternating rhythms, and are tied together by powerful punching bass lines to create Edinburgh’s answer to the UK post punk revival.

Verces are a 3 piece Scottish rock/indie band from Ayrshire and Lanarkshire. They have been together for 3 years and have been gigging from the start playing some classic venues across Glasgow and Ayrshire. They have just very recently dropped their debut EP called Never the Same which is on all major steaming platforms. Their influence comes from different places and they love playing gigs and having a good time!
