Welcoming Scotland’s second coming of the Detroit heritage. Dream_E (fka The Burrell Connection) returns to the East Coast, where the merchant of hyperactive techno will enter the Sneaky Pete’s booth for his club debut.

Sandy made a name for himself during the second half of the 2010s as a DJ and producer for legendary Scottish labels and crews West End Communications and Craigie Knowes, before moving on to become a central figure behind La Cheetah Club’s rise and reign amongst Glaswegian clubbing institutions.

Now residing in Berlin and with continued releases under a variety of different monikers, his productions span across genres of techno, downtempo, ambient and jungle and never fail to blow our minds. Naturally, we can’t wait for his first gig out in the capital since 2019.

Formed by Melyssa Shannon (Vocals), Jonny Woods (Guitar, Vocals), Aaron Black (Guitar) and Matt Killen (Drums) and Carl Gilmore (Bass) In January 2018, Wynona Bleach began after a 12 Date Russian Headline Tour under their former name of R51. Prior to this they played BBC Introducing stages at Reading and Leeds festivals, supported Feeder, and performed on a televised anniversary of the BBC’s Introducing music show in Northern Ireland at a sold out show in the Ulster Hall alongside Therapy? SOAK Villagers and The Divine Comedy.

Wynona Bleach released their Debut Single “Eyes Burning” in January 2018, and an EP titled “Sugar” in late 2018. They supported Alice in Chains on the irish leg of their World Tour in 2019, after which they retreated to an abandoned warehouse in central Portugal, where they recorded their debut album “Moonsoake” with Bill Ryder-Jones in 2019/early 2020. In august 2021 ahead of announcing a release date for “Moonsoake”, they signed a record deal with Fierce Panda Records.

“Moonsoake” was mixed across the lockdowns in 2020, with the title track recorded in isolation and added “last minute” to the album. As of late 2021, two singles have been released “Glimmer” and “Drag” – the latter being playlisted on BBC radio ulster, as well as charting in the top 40 of Amazing Radio and being featured on multiple Spotify editorial playlists.

Stand B-Side presents Macka in a freshers special at Sneaky Pete’s. Welcoming him back for his first residency headline show under the blue neon, Macka last appeared in 2021 for a packed out Christmas shindig.

Hailing from Glasgow, but Edinburgh born, Macka has became an established selector, holding down residencies and headline shows at the most prestigious clubs in Scotland. As well as being a selector, Macka has had his own productions supported by the likes of Pete Tong and The Blessed Madonna on BBC Radio One. In fitting line with his Edinburgh roots, he has had his debut LP signed to Edinburgh’s finest record label, Fresh Take Records.

Naked Lungs are a four-piece DIY Noise/Shoegaze outfit from Ireland, blending harsh, heavy instrumentation with melodic hooks to create a cathartic, emotional release in their tracks. The band utilizes distorted soundscapes and driving rhythms, all the while maintaining their unique approach to both songwriting structure and lyrics. Hailing from the Irish town of Kilkenny, 49th & Main are an indie-pop duo consisting of producer Ben O’Sullivan and vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Paddy King. The pair first met in school and after growing close, they began working on music together during a particularly warm summer, with O’Sullivan dabbling with acoustics and how to record King’s guitar. “It felt very ‘I don’t know how to do this” O’Sullivan admits, “it turned out so bad we didn’t revisit it again for a few years”. Time passed, and when they both decided to join a group of friends moving to Canada for the summer in 2019, they decided to take with them some recording equipment on the off-chance they’d get some time to experiment. Little did they know that by the time they returned home, they’d have the bones of their debut project.

Over time, the pair have been attracting attention across the industry, including Red Light Management where they quickly joined the impressive global roster. Excitingly, the band recently announced that they have signed a global record deal with independent label Counter Records, an imprint of Ninja Tune, who already house artists such as Bonobo, Bicep, Thundercat, Kelis and Black Country, New Road. On top of that, Paradigm have come on board to support their live journey. “It’s surreal, it hasn’t really hit yet, that this is like a career” the pair laugh at the recent announcements, “but it’s really exciting. It’s really cool and we can’t wait to get started”.

The Mirror Dance might no longer run parties in Manchester, but our love for the rainy city stays strong.

NTS resident and Manchester native Tarzsa brings joy to the Sneaky Pete’s booth this September. We’re not sure if she has a tardis, magic carpet, or DMC Delorean, but Tarzsa’s been providing top-drawer house, garage, and breaks everywhere from Gala to Kala, Maiden Voyage to Morocco, and De School to Dimensions in the past few years. Some shift!
