Otis Mensah (recipient of Jerwood Arts Live Work Fund & Arts Council England’s Developing your Creative Practice) is a musician and performing artist exploring the intersection of poetry and experimental music(s). Taking influence from the rhythmic and expressive freedom of Jazz, Otis’ work uses aesthetic language as an instrument to solo through themes of race, identity, gender and the body.

Over recent years Grim Sickers has evolved from being a heavyhitting Grime MC into a fully-rounded artist who has hidden depthsto his musical work. The most recent body of work ‘Icons Only’ isreflective of this, as it captures those heavy hitting Grime anthemsthat initially put the spotlight on him, as well as the laidback flowsthat encapsulate his passion for Emo-Rap and its surroundinggenres.After touring with The Streets 2 years in a row, makingappearances across the globe including major stages such asGlastonbury, Boomtown, Parklife and more, Grim quickly realisedthe levels that can be achieved with his music. Since then he hasbeen relentlessly releasing content, developing a huge catalogueof music, and he is now embarking on a journey that has noboundaries.

The next stop is a new body of work which has beenexpertly crafted by Grim and his protégés Sware and Gallah. Founded by Australian frontman, Sam Cooper, the mission statement was always simple: Blaring bagpipe anthems and twisted tin-whistle tunes.

“I grew up listening to skate punk bands like NOFX and Millencolin, then found love in deeper singer/songwriter stuff such as Fiona Apple and Elliot Smith who use more non-traditional instrumentation in their music. When the opportunity arose to start a band focused around Celtic instruments, I was trepidatious because it was so foreign to me… But in the end, I think that naivety of blending 90’s punk with traditional instruments is what sets
The Cloverhearts apart.” Says Songwriter and Vocalist Sam Cooper.
