Hot Mess:
Queer Dance Party

May 1st, 2026

Hot Mess is Scotland’s longest-running and, some would say, most beloved queer clubbing institution.

Simonotron plays tear-drenched orchestral disco, raw, bumping house, high-NRG classics and bleepy psychedelic techno all night long. Offering dancefloor comfort and joy for people of all genders, sexualities, ethnicities and ages, Hot Mess will blow your mind, give you little forehead kisses, and call you a good boy.

Following a sellout show at Leith FAB Cricket Club, World News return to Edinburgh

“…throwback indie rock of the highest order” – THE FADER

“If you think that jangly, bittersweet indie-pop is a lost art, then you owe it to yourself to check out this London band, who would’ve been stars on ’80s college radio.” – STEREOGUM

“addictively bittersweet post-rock” – PASTE

“World News has the musicianship of a band that’s been around for decades… – EARMILK

With an eclectic set of influences from the ‘70s and ‘80s dipping into post-punk, indie-rock and shoegaze alike, World News combines addictive atmospheric guitar riffs with seductive, nonchalant melodies. Moody, punchy, and nostalgic, they’ve drawn comparisons to iconic British bands from The Smiths and The Clash to Dire Straits, wearing the past on their sleeve while remaining perfectly original yet strangely familiar.

2024 saw a continued upward trajectory for the band with the release of two standout EPs, Escape and Mindsnap, their debut appearance in the US at The New Colossus Festival in New York City, and features in Stereogum’s 40 Best New Artists of 2024 and The Fader’s 13 Artists to Watch for 2025. Contributions to 2025 include the singles ‘Don’t Want to Know’ and ‘Everything Is Coming Up Roses’, which set the tone for their 2026 debut LP, alongside a string of summer festival dates and continued sell-out shows across the UK.

Wow – still recovering from what was an unbelievable evening warming up for a true great in Luke Una – huge thanks to the beautiful, open-minded audience members who stayed with us all the way as we twisted and turned our way through cosmic, free jazz, zouk, gwo-ka, white label disco and beyond!

In that same spirit, we invite you to join us April 30th as we stray from our usual garagey sounds and dive into the weird and far flung corners of our record bags:)

Do You Like Butter?

April 28th, 2026

Dayydream is the songwriting project of Chloe Trappes, teaming up with friends Loup Havenith on drums, Samuel Rafanell-Williams on lead guitar, Dillon Salvi on bass guitar, and Ainhoa Garston-Rodrigo on violin and keys. Trappes’ songwriting has grown in ambition, style and scope, encompassing aspects of dream-pop, slowcore and indie-rock. Chloe initially self-released her debut EP ‘Bittersweet’ in 2022. A solo effort produced by Agnes Haus, it garnered radio play from Pacific Notions (KEXP) and Soho Radio, with features from Get in her Ears and Bandcamp’s New and Noteworthy section. Since then, Dayydream have released a plethora of lo-fi singles, supported Teethe, Cryogeyser, Deary, Maria BC and Skydaddy, as well as headlined in Glasgow and Newton-Stewart. As of 2026, after nearly three years of honing their live performances, Dayydream welcome their latest EP; ‘Trace’ via independent label No Soap. Their first body of work as a band, the five piece embrace the sentimentality and melodrama of coming of age via diaristic lyrics and ambient instrumentals. Their latest single ‘Proximity’ saw airplay from BBC Radio 6, and has been praised by Various Small Flames, Get In Her Ears, The Skinny, Snack Magazine, The Ugly Hug and Mix It All Up. Recently, their song ‘Dog’ from the No Soap Compilation tape was featured in the second season of the BBC show ‘Dinosaur’. Following the release of their latest EP ’Trace’ Dayydream will be headlining Glasgow, London and Edinburgh in the springtime, and plan on bringing their dreamy sound to further corners of the UK.
