George Riley
ELANDA
for fans of… Kelela, Shygirl, PinkPantheress

February 27th, 2024

In just a few years London’s George Riley has become an unstoppable force in forward-thinking pop with producers like Anz, Hudson Mohawke, Vegyn, SBTRKT, Actress and more lining up to work with her.

A local hero in her own right who has already made a powerful imprint internationally, Riley’s latest project Un/limited love (Ninja Tune) is a widely varied but gorgeously cohesive body of work that pays true homage to various styles of electronic music while interweaving her own artistic journey – and transformation into one of the most exciting, genre-blurring voices emerging today.

Lionoil:
Violet, noodle & Percy Main

February 23rd, 2024

To kick off our 10th year of parties in the city, we’re welcoming back one of our absolute favourite past guests – Violet – for a long overdue jaunt at Sneaky Pete’s.

Dance music royalty in her hometown Lisbon, co-founder of Rádio Quântica, and putting out records on her own imprint ‘Naive’ (much of which you will have heard at past Lionoil parties) – Violet last played with us in Edinburgh across the road at the Bongo back in 2018 with Lena Willikens, what a party that was. As well as making her mark as a producer and much revered DJ, she is a bastion of inclusiveness and openness in the dance music space, resident at queer party mina, whilst platforming and amplifying queer and trans DJs and producers in her sets and through the label. We’re absolutely stoked to have her back to Sneaks this time around!

Fittingly, we’ve asked along Edinburgh local Noodle – who you will definitely be familiar with by now. A self professed tech house enthusiast and prolific churner out of mixes, she’s been setting out her stall as a resident with the GRDN / Subterranean Sound crew, and picking up many fans along the way. This will be a fine pairing.

Our own Percy Main tops off the proceedings, for good measure. Expect breaks, acid, lots of low end and a proper perty in a warm room with too much smoke occasionally.

Shelf Lives
GRAVELLE
WARDRUMS
for fans of… Peaches, Le Tigre, Sleigh Bells

February 22nd, 2024

Pairing hardcore punk’s brief bursts of energy with electroclash’s minimal and sleazy sonics, Shelf Lives raise themes of societal collapse and hyper-consumerism with a warped smile.

At the forefront, the band make gloriously OTT pop songs that bring the abrasiveness and physicality of punk back to a small, cramped house party setting – creating music so rowdy you can practically feel the sweat on the ceiling and the sound of crushed cans under your feet. Bring it on.
