Takuya Nakamura returns to Scotland this October for two early DJ sets at Free Time – Sneaky Pete’s day party series in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Nakamura moved to the United States in 1990 to study under the legendary jazz theorist and composer George Russell at the New England Conservatory of Music, later becoming a staple in New York’s vibrant jazz and jungle scene. He has collaborated with an array of legendary artists including Quincy Jones, David Byrne and Arto Lindsay, bringing his distinctive sound to numerous recordings and live performances.
Nakamura continues to push the boundaries of music, with recent projects blending his deep jazz roots with cutting-edge electronic production. His dedication to his craft and his ability to transcend genres make him a true pioneer in contemporary music.
