Across dubstep and its after-ripples, Brazilian street party funk, Chicago juke trax, techno from around the world, and way beyond, DJs and producers have painted psychedelic soundscapes, birthed unearthly creatures, created impossible devices, and moved unknowable ways since Kraftwerk & YMO said ‘go’. Katalysis accelerates the reaction of creativity with passion, our need to move our bodies coming into dialogue with our search for meaning and beauty.

As new faces crowd into the city for freshers’ week, Katalysis opens a bubble of depth in the flash-and-bang hubbub of commerce and community. With four heavyweight local DJs making a rare appearance at Sneaky Pete’s, there’s only one spot on Cowgate to catch sounds like these. Fresh talent paired with experienced sound-weavers, ecstatic expression with rigorous motion, down-to-Earth on the dancefloor.

Led, as it always is, by the marginalised, this vanguard of the edge of the envelope draws from experiences of exclusion, otherness, alterity, subterfuge, counterculture, introspection, migration, racialisation, disabling, and queerness. This night is brought to you and hosted by Katelate, filling an hour each night with the bedrock of the katalytic sound.

Maya Hacker makes her RARE debut. The daughter of Dan Hacker, she’s grown up around decks and dancefloors — now stepping into her own sound, blending deep house, minimal, and stripped-back club tools.

She’s joined by HAPOL, one of our longest-running residents, whose evolving sound has shaped the RARE booth across several seasons. Expect a wide range of tunes perfect to warm up the start of fresher

Day Sleeper’s second EP This House Won’t Fold (May 13th 2025), sees the Leith, Edinburgh-based band venture into previously unexplored territory.

Following on from the issuing of debut EP Everything There Is via Assai Records in 2024, This House Won’t Fold will represent the evolution of Day Sleeper’s sound ushered in by a year of consistent live shows up and down the UK, with a spontaneous, high-intensity aesthetic and emotional core.

Day Sleeper is Leo Bargery, Ryan Firth, Carron Miller, James Callaghan, Liam Dempsey and Edwin McLachlan.

Lucky Dip are bringing bubbling house legend Shaun D to Sneaky Pete’s for his Scottish debut!

Born and raised in The Hague, he was introduced to the vibrant world of bubbling at a young age, thanks to his Caribbean Mother and Dutch father. Shaun D is a pioneer of Bubbling House—a high-energy fusion of bubbling and house music. Influenced by legends like Chuckie and nAffie, he made his mark with tracks like “Pull Up,” “Boeke,” and “A Millie (Bubbling Remix),” lighting up iconic venues like Hollywood Music Hall.

From early underground buzz on Hyves and MSN to global releases on Mad Decent and Selegna Records, Shaun D brings the raw, infectious energy that defined a generation of Dutch club culture. Expect nothing less than pure fire on the dancefloor.

Plus a hybrid live/DJ set from ybz’s own texyo, bringing his infectious mix of cloud rap, grime and R&B.

Speaking about Home Days, Jack shared: “I’ve spent most of my 20s constantly on the move, traveling and touring all over the place—and I’ve loved every minute of it! But early in 2024, I had a rare window of time back in Australia. It had been a while since I just stopped, sat down, and fully embraced home. I didn’t realize how much I’d missed the little things—surf checks, the sound of native birds, quiet mornings at local cafés, time in the water, the sun, the silence, and of course, moments with friends and family. It felt so nice. Right then and there, I knew these days are the best. Home days.”

His easy-listening style continues to captivate audiences, earning him support slots alongside Tash Sultana, JP Saxe, Ocean Alley, and Boy & Bear, while also lighting up major festival stages like Cigale Festival (CAN), Boardmasters (UK), Maifeld Derby (GER), Electric Castle (ROM), and Latitude Festival (UK).
