Casual Drag
The Crails

May 17th, 2024

Edinburgh garage-punks Casual Drag return for a hometown headline at Sneaky Pete’s to launch their new single ‘Can You Hear Me Now?’ – with support from Glasgow punks the Crails

Snarling vocals over feral guitar riffs, backed by pounding drums and bass – Scottish garage punk three-piece Casual Drag have earned a reputation as a must-see live band through a series of packed and frenetic shows across their homeland.

Their standout brand of clattering garage-rock has led to support slots with Joe Talbot of IDLES, Lice, Flat Worms, JOHN and Press Club. Singles ‘Bleach Head’ and ‘Something Good’ were championed by BBC Introducing, BBC6 Music and Amazing Radio.

Their debut EP ‘Revolution Will Eat Itself’ landed in 2023 and immediately gained wider attention. It’s a body of work that encapsulates their raucous live shows. There is a drive and energy embedded within their music, raw and edgy with twisted riffs and crashing drums.

Their new single ‘Can You Hear Me Now?’ was recorded at Green Door Studios with Ronan Fay of Sweaty Palms.

Ploy and Daksh

May 15th, 2024

Timedance and Hessle Audio’s very own Ploy joins us for our 10th and final party before summer 🙂

Grounded in UK bassbin principles with a raw and gritty feel, Ploy’s production epitomises the pandemonium we seek to deliver and we can’t wait to see what he unleashes.

Deaf Test, his own label and party at favourite Venue MOT, allows him to traverse his spectrum of sounds with a playful approach – the latest release ’They Don’t Love It Like We Do’ – his own strain of club rattling house music (it makes me smile every time I hear it in le club)

Having held down multiple NTS shows and an Electronic Explorations podcast, it is his unique sound which places him among modern electronic music’s most innovative which he continues to explore on his current Rinse FM residency – an unrelentless showcase of the dark and sexy (we’ve attached his most recent rinse fm show below)

Giant Hogweed
Bütter

May 15th, 2024

Giant Hogweed are an exuberant trumpet-led 5 piece experimenting with jazz harmony, thorny composition and visceral, driving, psychedelic blues. Their sound emerges from the tensions amongst their varied musical backgrounds resulting in something unique and theirs.

Bütter stand out from the crowd, with their own unique, freewheeling, psychedelic spirit. They play a modern kind of kaleidoscopic rock’n’roll that nods to OSEES and King Gizzard, but takes in elements of original 60’s freakbeat, jazz and soul. There are inevitable comparisons to The Doors, and that’s no bad thing. Strong soulful vocals, boundless energy and wild-man musicianship ensure that they’re one of the most exciting LIVE bands I’ve seen in ages. I’ve enjoyed their singles so far, and I look forward to a full album – no doubt it will blow all our minds!”
