Dlú

June 3rd, 2023

Winners of the Danny Kyle Open Stage 2018, DLÙ are a trad fusion band from Glasgow. Comprising of Moilidh NicGriogair, Zach Ronan, Aidan Spiers, Andrew Grossart, Seoras Chlad and guest vocalist Joseph McCluskey, their eclectic musical backgrounds influence their original melodies and arrangements, giving the band their own distinctive sound.

Their name derives from the Gaelic word ‘dlùth’, meaning tight-knit and close, a tribute not only to the friendship between members but also to the band’s origins which lie in the Glasgow Gaelic School.

DLÙ released their debut album ‘Moch’ in February 2022 at the Òran Mòr, Glasgow. Their album has widely recognised with international radio plays and reviews.

As Gaelic speakers, DLÙ feel passionately about keeping their culture alive by writing music that appeals not only to members of the Gaelic speaking community but to those who have never heard Scottish Traditional music before.

???? RnR Mag – “An impressive debut from a band that seem destined to become major contributors to the evolution of Gaelic music.”

Folk Radio, UK – “It may only be February, but with MOCH, DLÙ might already be strong contenders for one of the debut albums of the year…”

THE SCOTSMAN – “Scots Gaelic culture in folk music is already strong, but DLÙ represent a new generation”

Nottingham’s LNC head to Scotland for a double header across Edinburgh and Glasgow this June.

‘LNC, a Nottingham based band which was formed largely based upon a childhood dream by the lead singer/song writer and guitarist Josh Price along with his friends Jacob ‘Jimmy’ Bettinson (Guitarist) Jordan Wright (Bassist) and Josh Bell (Drummer). Whilst light-hearted and fun but with a keen sense for the atmosphere and dynamic sound the indie rock band released there first single From Ilson with Love in 2016 on all streaming platforms. In 2019 the release of ‘0115 sparked an overwhelming response from radio playincluding BBC Sport who featured LNCs new single as the lead background music to one of their main events. From playing in Nottingham at ‘Beat the Streets’ Festival to playing in Scotland, Paris and various other cities, LNC released two singles ‘Desmond’ in February 2021 and ‘BONES’ in May 2021 leading to thousands of streams worldwide which took the band to a whole new level by being played on BBC Introducing. Now with there newest single ‘Circles’ being released on all streaming platforms in June 2022 which has had an amazing response from radio play including amazing radio UK & US and regular plays on Sirius XM in the US.’

Volens Chorus:
Kush Jones

June 1st, 2023

Born and raised in the Bronx, DJ and Producer Kush Jones’ gateway into the world of sound making all started with the sample. Growing up surrounded by R&B and soul played at home, he became interested in the way his parents records were flipped in modern music. He began learning computer based music production while in an after school program as a teen, and while most of his peers were taking the traditional hip-hop route, he desired for a more expansive palate. In the late 2000s, he attended Lite Feet battles, one of NYC’s homegrown dance cultures, which lead him to discover similar scenes around the US, such as Chicago footwork, Jersey club, and more. Still fascinated by the way all these genres reworked classic sounds to form new ones, Kush set off on a path to fuse his influences to form his own voice for the dance floor.

Eventually jumping behind the decks to play exclusive tracks from him and his friends, he gained the attention of likeminded DJs from all over, and found a home on the LAX-based Juke Bounce Work crew. Whether locals from the budding scene of his borough, or collaborators met abroad while touring, Kush cherishes feeding off the energy his friends and contemporaries. He’s spent the last few years touring all around the US and Europe and held radio residencies on Rinse FM, and stateside stations such as The Lot, and Halfmoon BK.

Churning out homemade creations regularly, Kush is most known for Strictly 4 MY CDJZ, his self-released series of Bandcamp exclusive EPs with 40 volumes planned to drop. On his newest project, he takes a more focused approach, and channels his love of house music into a 4-track 12” vinyl release on Washington DC-based label Future Times, out later this year. Whatever the tempo might be, Kush Jones provides a fresh take on the various areas he choses to work in, with a genuine respect for the craft and history of dance music, and a strong ear for sounds both current and yet to come.
