NANI
Grace and the Flat Boys
Hector Shaw
NANI is an Edinburgh-based indie artist who makes mood-dependent alt-pop/rock/folk tunes for people who could never be in charge of the aux at a party cause they’re way too indecisive.
NANI has built a considerable catalogue of releases over the past few years and has been playing shows all over Scotland and beyond. Most notably King Tut’s Summer Nights, The Great Eastern Festival, Liverpool Sound City, and supporting acts such as Art School Girlfriend, Katie Gregson-Macleod, and Coach Party. Her 2020 release, the 6-track EP “Pure Frustration” has been met with critical acclaim and has received airplay on BBC Radio Scotland, Amazing Radio, and BBC 6 Music, with the track “Sunshine” being featured on BBC Introducing’s Hot List.
NANI’s most recent single “Search Bar” was released on the 17th of March and has already received praise from the likes of Resonate Scotland, The Skinny, and BBC Radio Scotland, with BBC Introducing host Shereen Cutty saying: “I think it’s such an incredibly clever concept. And she’s written an incredible song about it. There’s so much character in that song.” Her track “Limbo” (14th of April) served as a follow-up – a ballad telling the tale of a never-ending situation-ship. Both these songs hint at the sound of NANI’s upcoming EP, “Honey”, which will be out on the 9th of June and accompanied by a headline show at one of Edinburgh’s most iconic venues, Sneaky Pete’s.
