The Media Whores, Geek Maggot Bingo, Peter & the Play Piece

Here is a band with punk rock attitude who merge their anger, rage and passion with a lyrical edge and some hook laden tunes that musically sees them explore an adventurous palette that takes them into new places. Its punk rock Jim, but not as you know it!!!

The Media Whores return with album number three – “Dangerous Minds” – that sees them continue to make huge strides forward. Their last album “Pornophonica” gathered massive plaudits from all over the world including 9/10 from Vive Le Rock, 8/10 from More Than Music here in the UK, 4/5 from I-94 Bar (Australia) and 8/10 from The Ox (Germany) to mention just a few.  A marker was laid down with last years General Election Day release of the “Critical Political” EP, with songs like “Class War” The Media Whores meant some serious business.

Some of the tunes here could grace stadium gigs and lyrically they are not afraid to wear their political heart on their sleeve.  Vive Le Rock gave them another 9/10 describing the band as “a modern Clash” while New York`s Angels Wear Red describe  “Dangerous Minds” as “the most politically significant album by British band for decades”. The Media Whores have got something to say and they pull no punches – be it the attack on Welfare Reform in “Do You Think I`m Lying”, Police corruption in “Raking It In”, mediacensorship in “You Can`t Say Whore On The Radio” or the battle against fracking in “Frack Off”.  Wrapped in a Warhol-esque sleeve featuring a host of the dangerous minds who blight our world this may be one of 2016`s most important releases that deserves to seep into the nations consciousness – an album to stimulate discussion and positive action but also a great rock`n`roll record !!

Following past headline tours and supports with bands ranging from The Damned (twice) and Ruts DC to The Legendary Shack Shakers and Stiff Little Fingers to The Dictators, to Big Country and upcoming dates with Spear of Destiny in April 2017 and at the legendary 100 club in London in August with Eddie and the Hot Rods, The Media Whores will tour “Dangerous Minds” extensively from its release in late 2016 and continuing in 2017 in these dangerous times.

The album will be available on CD and all DL platforms.
